New president, new America?

How that Barack Obama is officially the new president, I wonder if it's going to change the attitude many people have toward the United States.  I have talked with some of my friends in other countries and they all say they are hopeful that Obama will change the direction of our country and the world.

For a long time opinions of the United States have been very bad around the world. We have broken a lot of treaties with other countries, started a war based on a lie and have not maintained a friendly dialogue.

I know it's probably unrealistic to expect that all our problems will be solved with a new president. But, I wonder if people in other countries will change their outlook on the U.S. simply because we have a leader who wants to engage with them.

What do you think? I'm curious to hear what people's opinions are. Has your attitude changed with the new president? What kinds of things would you like to see the U.S. doing to improve relations with other countries.

Food on sticks

One thing I learned in China.  If you see food and it's on a stick, eat it. Chances are it's delicious. It might be a beetle or a scorpion, but that's pretty rare.  I had some food yesterday that was absolutely scrumptuous cooked by a friendly lady in an alley near Tianamen Square.  Stick food. It's the future.

Jason clinches silver in street badminton

At the Temple of Heaven we challenged a group of Aussies to a game of street badminton.  After taking a commanding 4-1 lead, those roo eaters came back to steal the victory. Ah well. Silver aint so bad I guess. It was all good fun and the chinese spectators loved it.

Party at the Drum and Bell with Ebaby! members

We had a great time at the party last night meeting about 25-30 members. I enjoyed meeting all of you, drinking beer and taking pictures.  We also had fun at the after party at Party World.  Look forward to many exciting videos of captain Jeff and the gang singing karaoke!

Street Performer

Jason challenged a performer named "Metal Ball Superman" to a contest in which you have to spin heavy medal balls in your hand. Despite a great effort Jason came away with the silver.  Good job Jason.  Bring home the medals for Ebaby!
