Something I can't quite comprehend is infact girls or women.
There's a statisic somewhere that say's the amount of women who are unhappy with the way they look, unfortunatly I can't remember the figure but I remember it being ridiculously high to the point where I thought "no way can that amount of women have such a low self-esteem"
Then I just have to look at my friends. Friend one, she is gorgeous, no doubting that yet on countless occassions has said something like "God, I'm ugly" or "God, I'm fat", when she is far from both, infact she is smaller than I am. However, you look on facebook and she has an album with pictures of just her posing. Now for someone so "ugly", why so many pictures? Because I don't think our self-esteem is as low as we let off. It's an attention thing, but at the same time, you get a girl that says "Yes, I am beautiful" and the first thing people do is shoot her down for being so bigheaded. So really we are damned for saying negative things about ourselves, with things like "typical women, seeking attention" or we are damned for actually liking ourselves, "what a big-headed bitch". I think women as a whole would rather come off as people with low self-esteem that crave the attention than be regarded as vain, and up their own arses. What's so wrong about looking in the mirror and thinking "I look damn good" or letting people know that you are happy with what you have. Seriously, we get bitched at for notloving ourselves enough and when we do, we get bitched at again. What the fuck are we supposed to do, and that's the part I don't understand. Like, I'm not saying have so much pride that you can't walk through a door but enough to acknowledge that you're not ugly. What are we supposed to do hate and love ourselves, that would be kind of pointless?
