Logic behind Arabic Numbers

The number system what we use today (1,2,3,4,5…) is called Arabic Numbers System. We also have Roman Numbers System (I, II, III, IV, V, …) which is rarely being used.

Have you ever thought WHY One is 1, Two is 2, Three is 3 … and so on?

It is all because of Angles. Yes, it is the number of angles in each letter.

The following image has ancient Arabic numbers. All the angles that are formed in these letters are mentioned by the letter o.

Ancient Number System - Arabic Letters

The number of angles gives meaning to each letters.

Number 1 has one angle
Number 2 has two angles
Number 3 has three angles
….
and so on.

Observe the letter Zero. It has no angles.

Interesting. Isn’t?

My Big Question?

Hi all of my dear friends

how are u today?

i hope u be fine everywhere u are

i think the real friends help each other to improve...and this is a holy reason to have good friends

i have a big question in my mind which i have researched alot to find the answers but until now i have not achieved to my favorite answer and maybe you can help me to achieve it...I've examined numerous methods and ways but they aren't sufficient fro me...

i have a 3 goals in my life, and i want to live for achieving them,work for them,study for them ,sleep for them,eat for them,struggle for them,win for them,lose for them,search for them,examine for them,earn money for them,make effort ...

you know i want to put all of my actions in this way for achiveing to that 3 goals...but unfortunately somtimes i cant be in this way...and i do some wrong ....maybe some lazying,maybe some difficult situation and etc...

I know all the persons have some goals in their life ,but how can be hardworking always?

I studied more than 20 books meticulously about this subject, and i spellbound and inspired some days but after that period i came back to that route ...I watched alot of movies about this ... I speak to some counselor and consultant and etc..yeah with this actions i experienced alot a i've boosted my skills and my abilities ...

in each of this steps i found a new beneficial key and that was good for some days ,that helped me to recognize my weakpoint

but totally i want a program and plan for staying in my own way ....

i know every one has same problem....

but my dear friend what are u doing to achive to your goal...?

would you recommend me your best methods?

What is NOROZ?!

In harmony with the Nature, the Iranian New Year Celebration or NOROZ!(a Persian word that means "New Day.") always begins on the First day of Spring! Noroz ceremonies are symbolic representations of (Persian)Zoroastrian ancient concept. When we are in the last days of the year, people start to prepare themselves to welcome the New Year, but how..We start spring-cleaning, wash the carpets, clean the windows, and plant some new flowers like Sonbol, Shamdanie... We buy new clothes and gifts especially for children. But we try to make every thing new! It has its own philosophy. The first day of spring means the new birth of earth, Nature. By trying to make everything new we want to show our happiness, thanksgiving of this wonderful God’s gift, Spring! A ceremonial table called Sofreh-e Haft Sin (cloth of seven dishes), All Seven{or more} items in this ceremonial table starts with the Persian letter “ Seen ” or “ S ” in the English.

Sabzeh - wheat, barley or lentil sprouts growing in a dish - symbolizing rebirth
Samanu - a sweet pudding made from wheat germ - symbolizing the ultimate sophistication of Persian cooking.
Senjed - the dried fruit of the oleaster tree - symbolizing love
Sir - garlic - symbolizing medicine
Sib - apples - symbolizing beauty and health
Somaq - sumac berries - symbolizing (the color of) sunrise
Serkeh - vinegar - symbolizing age and patience

Other items on the table may include:

a few coins represent prosperity and wealth
a basket of painted eggs represents fertility
a bowl with goldfish (life, and the sign of Pisces which the sun is leaving)
a bowl of water with an orange in it (the earth floating in space)
A mirror which represents the images and reflections of Creation as we celebrate anew the ancient Persian traditions and beliefs that creation took place on the first day of spring.
a holy book (e.g., the Qur’an, Avesta, Kitáb-i-Aqdas, Bible, or Torah) and/or a poetry book (almost always either the Shahnama or the Divan of Hafez)
On either side of the mirror are two candlesticks holding a flickering candle for each child in the family. The candles represent enlightenment and happiness.

The herald – Amo Noroz(Uncle New Year)The traditional messenger of Noroz is called Amo Noroz! He brings good news for the people. He sings and dances through the streets wearing dark make-up and red clothes.

After that it is Noroz during this time people visit each other to say happy New Year and receive their gifts(Edie) by these visiting they destroy the root of hatred and plant the seed of kindness and peace!

•Why do we survive and live ? •Do you believe God?(why?) •Why God create a very very huge number of people in every time?(does it have any reason or motto?) •Why ?why?why?... First and beforehand I prefer to say a lot of people live without thinking about these questions because life it is not possible without thinking about these questions but if some body wants to think about these same questions his future is depends on some condition. If he/she can a find a satisfying answer his life will be wonderful life But if he can't maybe he will swerve …. What do you think about friendship

according to my friend ( <Reem_Oman>) qustion :

question: "What do you think about friendship ?? Is it important for us ?"

First and foremost, friendship is very very important for me....

If you are finding a new good friend....

if you love him/her too much ,you'll find yourself talking to ,telephoning or chatting the person for no reason (You might pretend there's a reason, but often there's not)
you'll find yourself bringing this person into every conversation("When I was in USA -,")a friend begins. You interrupt with, “My boy/girl friend made a great American dinner last week.")
you might suddenly be interested in things you used to avoid.

OK,so you've found new friend. But finding new friend is one thing, and staying in this friendship is another. How can you tell ,as time passes ,that you're still in friendship ?If you keep the touch ,your relation will change .You might not talk as much about the person who is your friend. You might not call or chat him/her so often .But this person will nevertheless become more a more important on your life.

You'll find that you can be yourself with this person .When you first find new friend ,you were probably afraid to admit certain things about yourself .But now you can be totally honest. You can trust him/her to accept you just as you are. Finding new friend is great staying in this companionship is even better!

finally ,I have a lot of friends (near and very far>in the internet )that I love them .

Daily Notation (Friday 29/12/2007)

I went to climb mountain with my friends in the early morning after sunrise( 6 o'clock) .The temperature was around -2ºC there ,very nice morning on the snow-capped mountain.

(my friends -left to right - Jaber , Hamid , Saeid)

I was seeing some Cresset ( glacial water which is dangled like cone ) then i got some photo from them .

After we had climbed half of the mountain we ate fried egg in breakfast around 8:30.

We're often climbing mountain on Fridays .I thinks this is a good hobby and a good physical exercise.

Whats ur opinion about this action?

I liked the pictures very much . The scenary was fantastic , but the weather is freezing . How could you bear it ??

the weather here in Oman is very beautiful at this time of the year . The cold brease fresh you . But the weather in summer is horrible . But in the south ( Salalah ) the weather is unbelieveable . You could see the color of green as far as your eyes could see .

Now is my turn to suggest a topic to discuss ... What do you think about friendship ?? Is it important for us ??

In my Country ,it's the custom to...

In my opinion , we can share our information to improve our skills exactly our craft in speaking and writing English,what's your idea?

1st information:In my Country ,it's the custom to take your shoes off your shoes when you go to somebody house's
2nd information: In my Country,when you meet someone for the first time you aren't supposed to kiss him or her.
3rd information: In my Country, when you go out with your friends it's not acceptable to share the expenses (often).
4th information: In my Country, its not acceptable to point to anyone with your finger exactly in formal situations.

what your culture follow any of these customs?
Do any of these customs seem unusual to you?Expalin.
what customs should a visitor to your country know about?

I think it´s a good way to practice writing . You are genious ( you deserve a star for the idea )

The custom in your country is almost close to mine ... so I didn´t consider any of them is unusuall .

We also take our shoes off when enter anybody´s house to show respect .
We also considered it impoliteness to point to sb in public .

In Oman it´s must to wear ( abaia ) black ,long dress ( it´s for wamen ) so we can´t go out with out wearing it .

In Oman we can´t shake hand with strangers , but if it´s a woman we shake her hand to show respect and we don´t have to kiss her .

Message:	Thank you my friend, i'm fine i hope you too. The weather here in France is not very cold, it's sometimes rainy and quite smooth. What a good idea you have ! It's a good thing to exchange our lifestyle like that. You know here in France, there are many people from different and various origins. So when somebody come to the house of someone, he doesn't take his shoes off, except if he come upstair in rooms.It's not all time like that, it depends of people and places. In France, if you meet someone for the first time you can kiss her, it depends with some people you kiss her and with other you don't. But with mens you only shake hands generally. With friends from Africa or Middle East you can kiss them even if there are mens. And if you shake hands, you can bring your hands to your heart after. It means that you like your friend. If you go out with your friend, sometimes we share expenses with natives French, and like you we don't share with friends from other cultures. In France also, it's not very polite to point someone with you finger. In France, when you eat it's better to eat with your right hand. Friday is a special day for muslims, and sunday is special for christians. So for me even if I'm not a hard believer, we eat with all my family a special dish name 'Kesksou' or sometimes a 'Tajine' after buying hallal food. French like very much bread, there are about 100 sorts of bread here. We like also bakeries and cakes and chocolate (many sorts exists also)

That's fun!..

About the first information, here taking off your shoes without asking would be, at least, weird, unless you are good friends with that person and he/she isn't very formal.

About the second one, here you greet everyone with a kiss on the cheek, unless you're a man meeting another man, then it's more common to have a disctinctive greeting with your hands, if you're young. If not, then a regular hand greeting would be perfect. Anyways, it's not bad to greet with a kiss on the cheek if you're a guy who has a good male friend.

About the third one.. I had never thought of that! It really depends on the situation, but you usually share the expenses. It's not weird to do so.

About the fourth one. Here it's not really accepted or not accepted.. It depends on the situation. But in an informal situation there's no problem about it.. Usually I point someone with my finger when I have to say something like "youu bastard left me alone that night ¬¬!!" with a non-serious face hahaha, and it's considered a joke.

If you're a foreigner coming here (Chile, south america) you should know that here we have a "normal occidental culture" hahaha.. But people are, mostly, more open minded. Not many relatively young people are really religious (at least in the capital city), though the most important religion here is catholicism. With that I mean that maybe many people believe in god and consider themselves christian, but not many people go to church every sunday. Then being intolerant to any religion would be considered very rude to most of the people here.

And you should also know that people in Chile curse a lot, but it's not meant to harm anyone. It's just a way to express xD.. Of course you shouldn't curse in formal situations, but being with friends it's more than normal. We also have a very particular sense of humor, love to tell double-sense jokes, and some people are very ironic (in some particular cases, too much. but most of them just make you laugh). So if you ever come here you should just relax and enjoy, if you're coming to meet people informally. Here people really know how to enjoy themselves, and how to make other people enjoy
