#259 What Are You Doing For Lunch Today? (Scene from "Office Space")

Instructions:  Listen to the youtube video above and fill in the blanks below (or write your answers on a piece of paper). Beginners can use the list of missing words and phrases, but advanced students should try to fill in the blanks just by listening to the video (without looking at the list of missing words and phrases).  The answers are given at the end of the lesson.

Main Features:  The main feature in this lesson is the word "to", which can sound like "ta", "da", and "na".  You'll hear the words and phrases "today" ("taday"), "supposed to" ("supposed da"), "like to" ["like da"], and "I'm going to" ("ahm gonna").

Missing Words and Phrases (7):  I'm going to [ahm gonna]; like to [like da]; supposed to [supposed da]; today [taday]; what are you [whadda you]; Would you like to [dja like da]; you [ya].

Hi. I'm Peter.
Hi, can I help you?

Uh, well, our specials today are blackened chicken and {stops and points} -- it's actually right there on the board. Excuse me [1].
Hey, look who's back!  Table for three?
I was asking what you were doing for lunch.  _________________ have lunch with me?
{Laughs} Are you, are you serious?
Yeah.
Yeah, um, I don't, uh, I don't think I'm ___________ do that.
Oh.  Okay, well, I'll tell _____ what I'll do.  ____________ go next door and get a table and if you'd _______ join me, uh, no big deal, alright?  And if not, that's cool, too [2].  Okay?
Okay.
Alright.
When you say, uh, "next door," do you mean, uh, Chili's or Flingers [3]?
Flingers.
Okay.

Notes:

[1] Excuse me = She says "scuse me" instead of "ekscuse me", that is, the "ek" sound is missing.
[2] "No big deal" and "that's cool" = In other words, either one is fine with him.  If you come, that's ok; but if you don't come, that's ok too.
[3] Chili's or Flingers = These are two restaurant chains in the US..
