ESPN has officially announced the departure of Erin Andrews. It is also reported that Fox News is hiring Andrews. Ms. Andrews is best known for her work on the ESPN’s “College Game Day”.

“Erin Andrews is leaving ESPN. She did great work for us & we made aggressive offer to keep her,” ESPN spokesman Mike Humes said on his Twitter account, as reported by USA Today. “Wish her best on her next chapter.”

This is indeed a sad day for both ESPN and its viewers because Andrews was among the best reporters on the sports sidelines. She was also among the most watched reporter on ESPN, not only because she was pretty and smart, but mainly due to the fact that she handled her job with perfection.

Media experts say that it would not be a shock to see the ratings of her show declining now that Andrews is gone. Moreover, ESPN officials will have to strive hard to find a perfect replacement after her exit. The void that is left after Andrews’ exit will not be filled up easily.

Although the official news is that her contract expired this week, rumors have it that the young sports newscaster was not happy with her network. She could have easily extended her contract, but she was quite content with the idea of leaving the ESPN.

On the other hand, Fox News officials are reportedly busy in convincing her to join them after parting ways from ESPN. The FOX News network had made an "aggressive offer" to keep Andrews, 34, before her contract expired at the end of June.

Andrews' agent declined to comment on her plans now that she has left the network, but it appears she might join Fox Sports, The Hollywood Reporter said Friday. The Reporter’s sources in touch with Fox News expressed that it’s almost certain that Andrews would join Fox. However, a final and official affirmation from both Fox News and Erin Andrews is still to be heard.

ESPN has not issued any official news about Andrews’ replacement, but it has been learnt from sources that Jenn Brown, also a former Gator, appears to be the one who will be filling that gap.
