Yet, Another Ten Helpful Tips To Improve Your English!

After the first successful ten tips, I'd like to provide you with more...

1.Read English language comics. Even more than books with lots of dialogue, comics can be easy to understand and full of idiomatic language as it is actually spoken. There can be difficulties with slang, difficult to understand jokes and/ or dialogue written how people speak rather than with normal spellings, so try to choose which comic carefully. Usually, serious or adventure comics are easier to understand than funny ones.

2.Read English language entertainment guides. Nowadays most big cities in the world have an English language magazine and/ or online guide to the movies, plays, exhibitions that are on in the city that week. Reading this in English is not only good value, but it could also guide you to places that English speakers are interested in and where you might hear some English spoken around you.

3.Read English language magazines.If you can read two versions of the same magazine (Newsweek in your language and in English, for example), that could make understanding it much easier.

4.Take a one week intensive course. Although you cannot expect to come out of a very short course speaking much better English than when you started it, if you continue studying a little over the following weeks and months, the knowledge you gained then will gradually come out and mean that your level of speaking, listening etc. are better than they would have been if you hadn't taken that course. This positive effect can still be true up to a year later.

5.Follow your intensive course up with an extensive course. The more time you can spend studying English the better, but studying periodic intensive courses with a few hours of study a week in between is probably better value for money than any other system as it gives your brain time to subconsciously learn and start using the new language you have learnt before you introduce the next new "chunk" of language.

6.Supplement your group class with a one to one class. Another good way to combine two different kinds of classes is to study both in a group class and one to one. Having a one to one teacher, even if just a couple of times a month, will mean that you can be taught exactly the language that you need, that you will have more time to speak, and that you can have as much error correction as you like.

7.Supplement your one to one class with a group class. The benefits of having a group class are often less clear to students, but they include the fact that you will learn to deal with several people speaking at once, have a chance to practice skills such as interrupting people, and will hear a range of different viewpoints and topics.

8.Teach your children or friends some English. Recent research has shown that elder children tend to be a couple of IQ points above their younger siblings, and the most likely reason is that explaining things to their little brothers and sisters gives them an intellectual boost. In the same way, teaching someone lower level than you the English you already know is a great way of permanently fixing that knowledge in your own brain.

9.Ask your company to start English lessons. Even if you don't need to speak English at work, English lessons can be a fun and reasonably priced way for your company to spend their training budget in a popular way.

10.Have English radio on in the background while you are doing your housework. Even if you are not listening carefully, it will help you subconsciously feel the natural English rhythm and intonation.

All my dear friends, these days I always think about life and love when I watch the series desperate housewives. Actually, I ‘m not a kind of person which is frustrated all the time. But in this series, everyone has their own problems and disappointment. They cannot help but to face the life. So do us. Everyday, we are in dealing with so many kinds of stuffs. So we must have a bravery and positive attitude.

I love watching desperate housewives and often read the quotes. It gave, gives and will give me lots of philosophy. Today, I picked the episode 2 from the season 1 to share with you. I hope all of us can find the useful meaning from it. Thanks ~

And we can suddenly see the world we left behind so clearly. Of course, most of what's visible to the dead can also be seen by the living. If they only take the time to look."

I don’t know what die it is. But from Mary Alice’s feeling, I can clearly find out that she had some regret about her life. When she suicides herself, she finally felt the world‘s essence.

We are always busy about work and life. And complain about the world is unfair why we have to burden this or that. We don’t find the beauty surrounding our life until we die. What a pity. Maybe, the beauty surrounding is the tree, the birds, even our parents, our children and enemy.

For example, our parents sometimes would disagree with us on some points. But have you thought about that , they are not point to our behaviors, just wanna protect us from danger. I always think objection is also the greatest thing in the world, at least, there are two person care about you. while, as a return, what we give them back? Endless angry and complains.

When we are tired, just stop and sit down to see the people, see the sky, and listen the air. The most easy and beautiful thing is in our heart. We like running, but seldom stopping and looking around. Fabulous things couldn’t be appeared by themselves, we have to dig and feel it truly from deep heart. It is not about numerous or gorgeous, just some tiny moments always be ignored by us.

So from now, let’s seize every minute to care and appreciate the every single moments in the world to find and seek the true love.

HEARTBREAKER -- G-Dragon

its long time since i last wrote blog.its nearly Vietnamese new year,4 days later.i think the year 2009 is one of my best years because in 2009 i've done many things which are affective to my study well.

Erm in September,i chose English and Mathematics as my 2 subjects to join in the team of good students.

The school round, i've got the first prize in English (mark 19,5/20) and the third prize in Maths(mark 14/20) hix its not a good result for me bcuz i love the first prizes ^^.

The city round, i've got the first prize in Math (mark 19/20) and the second prize in English (mark 16,5/20) although there wasn't the first prize in English=> so i can be proud of myresult to be the best,can't i? :D and i've got the first prize in Math CASIO (this means solving the Math problems with a scientific calculator,which is the thing you use to do plus,divide,square,square roots,equations... understand?) haha i've got much money ( about over 150US$^^ maybe)

And the location round,erm i was really really nervous bcuz i met those who are as good as me (even they are better than me:-O) but dont worry.i've got the second prize in Math (mark 16/20) and there wasn't the first prize in Math too (bcuz the math test and equation was too too difficult for secondary students to do,its about the high school's knowledge :-zz) and the second prize in English (mark 16/20) im still be lower than 4 people (that's so boring,i thought that i must be the best :D so vain) and the MAth CASIO,can u believe that i've got the first prize and i can come to another location to join in the national team? wowowo im really crazy........

And now its really difficult.the time i spent on Math and English was too much and i lost many periods of Chemistry,Physics... oh my,how can i understand all the problem of Chemistry and Physics?its so hard.and now we're learning about organic chemistry CxHy hard to understand.and the physics we're learning about refraction of rays.i hope i'll catch up with the lessons...

i've just overcome the Internet math in the school (mark 285/300).the beginning of March,i will have the Internet Math of the city and the Math CASIO of Vietnam,it means the national contest.oh im really nervous

i can go with some handsome broz ^^ they are in high school and they are well-learned,they are handsome and friendly.but im dizzy when im in a bus,what should i do now?i want to sit next to handsome broz huhuh :(( help me plz.......

Yesterday, I accompanied with my friend to buy New Year festival gift for her younger brother—an OPPO 2GB MP4 player.

The Spring Festival which is the most important festival in China is coming soon. Most people are going to go home from different places. And most of them are working far away from their hometown and can only go home once or twice a year. Therefore, buying families and friends some presents are necessary and meaningful for them, so does my friend.

Yesterday afternoon, after a sound nap, we left for the Electronic market to buy a MP4 player for her brother. When stepping into the market, we were dazzled by the colorful and various kinds of MP4 players, which are mostly anonymous for us. After careful selection, we were both satisfied with the OPPO MP4 player which is with good sound effect and highly clear pictures. And the shining blue appearance also attracted us to a large extent.

After comparing with other styles of OPPO and other brands’ MP4 players, we eventually decided to buy the one we fell in love with for the first time. However, for the clerk was too busy and it was time for the market to close, we didn’t buy it. But we will go there today and buy it. My friend said that her brother was quite happy when hearing the news.

Hey, I'm back here! Right now, here in Brazil it is 00:52 a.m. and I'm totally sleepless so I'm writing a little bit! hehe Well, someone asked me about how much does the Michigan exam cost here in Brazil and what would I do next if I succeed in it. So: the exam here costs about 100 dollars and if I pass on it I will try the TOEFL next year!

Let me think some news to tell you guys... Well, by the end of the week we're getting to Carnival here in Brazil that is the most festive holiday of my country! I don't love it that much but this year I will travel to my beach house and spend some time with my uncles, cousins and friends there. It will be lot of fun and it is only 3 hours away from Rio de Janeiro (where I live =D). So that's it y'all guys! See ya!

Iran has successfully tested the prototype of its first domestically-built stealth drone, a senior Air Force commander said Sunday.

"The drone, due to its physical attributes and the material used in its body, cannot be detected by any radar," Air Force Brigadier General Aziz Nasirzadeh, the force's coordination deputy, told reporters.

He said data from the test-flight had been favorable and the Air Force will move forward with its plans for the drone, called Sofreh Mahi, meaning Manta Ray in English, Fars News Agency reported.

Brig. Gen. Nasirzadeh, however, explained that the production process will not be rushed as such complex systems need thorough analysis and exhaustive testing

Today is the first time I enter ebaby, frankly, it's difficult for me to express my mind prefectly in english,maybe there are many faults in my sentences,but,just record!

If you are a smoker and you are searching for a way of how to stop smoking. May be you will find some way of stopping smoking from a book, but that is no useful for you.

When residents of a West Sussex community welcome people who move in, they shun the traditional ''new home'' card and do not leave a gift of home-made cup cakes on the doorstep. Instead, they throw a party on the village green.

"We moved here last August and on the bank holiday people held a barbecue for us on the green," says Claire Ahern, who with her husband Mark runs two hairdressing salons.
"Many of the locals attended so we met almost everyone in one go. Since then our children play on the green and we've been to birthday parties on it."

Neighbours Dave and Lizzie Cox organise walks and jogs from the green, too. "The village green serves as an ice breaker. If someone's out there, another comes out as well. Soon there's a group. We catch up on what's going on and organise events, so it's a great asset for the community," says Dave, a painter and decorator.

The green in question is at Bourn Meadows, a modern scheme by developer Rydon Homes. Like the village greens of old, it is a venue for scheduled bank holiday, Christmas and New Year celebrations as well as more impromptu get-togethers like summer wine tasting and children's homework sessions.

The Open Spaces Society (www.oss.org.uk) a voluntary group championing greens, parks and rights of way, says there are 3,650 registered greens in England and 220 in Wales. The Scottish executive estimates 1,000 in its area.

These are just the ''official'' greens defined as those where "a significant number of inhabitants indulged in lawful sports and pastimes for 20 years".

There are thousands more greens across Britain that have been in use for a shorter period or have not been formally registered, yet serve as the focus for local events.

The Open Spaces Society is celebrating the success of residents at Burley in Wharfedale, near Bradford, who have just had an eight-acre site designated as a village green after 20 years of campaigning.

"This is a wonderful outcome. It has confirmed the rights of local people to use this area for quiet recreation and it will protect the land from development," says Nicola Hodgson, the Open Spaces Society's case officer.

Most greens have rich histories. Wombourne, near Wolverhampton in the Midlands, for example, with its cricket pitch green, was the centre of the original agricultural village before the industrial revolution. Since the 17th century, rings of homes and roads have been built around the green, absorbing neighbouring hamlets and demonstrating the classic housing growth pattern.

Now new communities, like the eco-estate proposed for a site on the outskirts of Swindon by Grand Designs presenter Kevin McCloud, are going back to these basic principles. His company, HAB Housing, is hoping to win approval from Swindon Borough Council for 180 homes and a new village green on a 10-acre site surrounded by mature, deciduous trees.

McCloud says the green, which will also have a small meadow, is his bid to avoid the typical developer's approach of homes "plonked down with no regard for place or any kind of context".

Another eco-scheme, The Wintles, in Shropshire, has turned part of its village green into an allotment for residents to grow fruit and veg.

But if you believe open spaces, old or new, always instill a feel-good factor then think again. Because plots officially designated as village greens are protected from development, they can cause disputes, too.

In Cornwall, angry locals unsuccessfully tried to designate Carlyon Bay beach as a village green in a bid to stop a vast scheme of 511 holiday homes and a hotel being built on one of the most beautiful stretches of the south-west coast.

But there is no such strife at Bourn Meadows, in West Sussex. Like most village greens it is enjoying a peaceful renaissance.

"Many homes here have small gardens so the village green allows us fresh air as well as a way of meeting each other," says newcomer Claire Ahern.

"We moved here because of the beautiful house and the location," she says, "but once we arrived we realised just what a bonus the village green was."

DESIGNATE YOURS

Check its history and ask the council's planners for Form 44 – the paperwork required for designation in most areas. Have evidence, such as photos or press cuttings, to show local people have used the green for 20 years or more

I miss my dad so much!

I miss my dad so much, there is no man besides me recently, who always standing on my side, when mom and the whole family not really support my decision, I miss him so much! I miss when he said, " Just let her learn.."

I was not really got this feeling actually, until I heard the songs, from MLTR's album which one of friends here at my office tuning in... I love MLTR, I collected their albums from the beginning to their latest album, and I can sing all the songs.

I remembered when daddy always pick me up from my university or from my office when I was in Bandung, and I always tuned in these songs in car on our way home.

I remembered when mom never let me drive with unreasonable reasons that she had no heart to see me trapped in a traffic jam, but daddy would let me drive and sit beside me on passenger seat.

I bet if daddy' s still alive, he would pick me up here from my office in Jakarta to Bandung every Friday, and would take my daughters here when I miss them so much! I just need calling him and saying that I wanna go home!

Wait, I have an 11-page-paper on the topics of aesthetics which is worth 50% of my final grade due......when?

right, right, the end of next month.

Oh gosh...........................

I need improve my grammar, and organizational skills, and paragraph structure skills, and ... and ... improve them fast.

It's hard, really, for someone like me to study grammar since English is not my native tongue; and I've been learning English through ......osmosis, which is not very effective.

Which is why I am here on this site, hopefully I can make use of the grammar lessons they have here, and possibly meeting some cool friends. =D

Oh I love the world! I want all the people who befriend with me tell me how beautiful their countries are! I hope to meet wonderful people here, and share with me the stories they have!
