Find Friends

A lot of foreigners probably think about the location of lesser known countries on the map of the World all the time..it`s a joke, of course..heheh;P They often ask me:"What would you say about your country, where is Poland ?". Some of them have imagined humorous stories about my homeland. At once somebody asked me if we live together with white bears! It was ridiculous,wasn`t it? Our nation is civilized! I don`t want to show off my knowledge about other countries(because it`d be a lie), however, I`m of the opinion that if sb is unconscious of something,he should check it as soon as possible. What`s more, each human being should broaden his or her minds.

For this reason I decided to present a few major things about POLAND, that`s to say, it`s a picturesque country, situated on the centre of Europe, on the Baltic Sea and our capital is Warsaw. Besides, we can spend our holiday in the mountains called SUDETY, KARPATY,TATRY,BIESZCZADY ,or at the seaside.The longest river is VISTULA RIVER, which flows through the Poland. Most holidaymakers have had to book their hotel rooms in advance because they may not get a vacancy during the best weather conditions( from June to August )...I should also mention about the architecture, so, most of Polish cities are renowned for Gothic buildings: Town Halls,tenement houses and churches with stain-glass windows which date back from the Middle Ages. As far as I`m concerned, I prefer everything made during the Middle Ages to Renaissance, for instance. We can be proud of Nicolaus Copernicus, the astronomer, who was born and bred in Toruń(one of the Polish cities).

I`m certain that each Pole considers BIGOS( it`s the dish made of sauerkraut, mushroom and spices), vegetable soups, a delicious GINGERBREAD CAKE traditional dishes. A lot of them are rather healthy than fattening, nevertheless, teenagers and adults eat junk-food from time to time in common with many other countries, I think.

The only one thing I`d like to change are roads...and slowly trains- it gets on my wick! Although, when I travel with my friends, the time flies so quickly! I hope that this piece information makes a clear image of European country-Poland. What would you like to get to know about my homeland? According to you, is it worth seeing place, or not?
