Greetings from Los Canales, near Rio Chico, Miranda State, Venezuela. The purpose of this blog is to describe my "Irrelevant Observations" of living in this tropical paradise called Venezuela.

We have just had a 4 day holiday to celebrate May Day, here this seems to be the norm, if there's a 1 day holiday elsewhere it turns into a long weekend here, which quite frankly is GREAT ! People here know how to enjoy themselves, which would be a good lesson for the rest of the human race, now they may not be rich, most seem relatively poor, but enjoyment, comes a close second to female beauty as the national sport. Speaking of beauty, the ladies here are stunning, they seem to have the most beautiful skin, long legs and great smiles, and tiny bikinis, plus they are fun, there seems to be no apprehension or reserve, which after 16-17 odd years in the conservative USA, is a blessing. For example in the USA at the beach they have signs with a long list of NO's eg. No Alcohol, No Music etc then at the bottom "Enjoy your day at the beach" Here you are free to do basically whatever you want at the beach, drink, music, cars on the beach, dogs, whatever. While this freedom is good it does lead to a lot of trash been left on the beach, but the Government is on a real push for tourism and is now cleaning up after the weekend, which is good, but the people need educating, don't leave your trash. But as previously stated the beaches and the people here are fun, and I have no regrets about been here !

Anyway this is my first blog so feel free to comment, and I'll try to keep it updated when ever there is time.
