English is so strange. The hottest and fuggiest days in summer are called dogs day. Why not cats day or rats day?
In chinese we call it 三伏天or 桑拿天sauna days which covers 30 or 40 days。 what does 伏 mean in chinese? I haven't figured it out yet. Yesterday was the first day of dogs day of this summer. And it was terribly fuggy. Several days ,it has been very bright and cool so I said to my father:"May be we will have a cool summer this year.It is so good!" But the first day killed my sweet dream. Today I was delayed in a shopping mall by a heavy unexpected rain which also brought down temperature.After waiting for about 20 mins I decided to run to my e-bike despite of the rain. Cool~~. I always put a raincoat in the basket on the back of my e-bike. But the rain is so heavy and the wind is so strong that I got soaked.Some smart people should have invented/improved a kinda raincoat which is more practical or maybe I should work more harder to buy an automobile.
When it comes to dog, there is similarity between Chinese culture and western culture. Dogs means royalty,friendly,furry,domesticated but in chinese culture, people aslo relate dogs to culinary. Besides, I hear koreans have dog's meat to eat in dogs days. It is their traditional culture. Maybe koreans can well understand why these days are called dogs day.
The most famous dog in the world might be Snoopy and I think puppies in 101 Spot Dogs are aslo very lovely.
I have been longing to own a dog, but my mother hates dogs which she thinks dirty and dangerous.
