Proper usage of:

Enough

Enough is placed before the noun, to indicate the quantity required or necessary:

“There is enough bread for lunch.”

“She has enough money.”

Enough is also used with adjectives and adverbs:

“We didn't have enough time to visit London Bridge.”

“Is there enough milk for breakfast?”

“She has enough talent to become an international singing star.”

word "enough", when used with adjective. it must be placed after adjective. but if you use with noun, it must be placed before it.

ex. she's clever enough  (for adjective)

* i don't have enough maoney to buy that thing. (for noun)

thanks

BAD EXAMPLES!!!

Enough is also used with adjectives and adverbs:

“We didn't have enough time to visit London Bridge.”  (TIME – noun)

“Is there enough milk for breakfast?”(MILK – noun)

“She has enough talent to become an international singing star.” (TALENT – noun)

BETTER EXAMPLES SHOULD BE SOMETHING LIKE THIS:

before nouns: "You gotta have enough knowledge."

after adj & adv: "You gotta be knowledgeable enough."/ "You gotta speak knowledgeably enough."

BUT I GUESS THAT'S ONE REASON WHY SHOWS LIKE "ARE YOU SMARTER THAN A 5TH GRADER?" EXIST. "

Thanks for elaborating the examples. I wouldn't be making lessons here if they are wrong.

But try to read what the INSTRUCTI0NS says:

1. ENOUGH is placed before a NOUN.

a. There is enough meal on the table.

meal is a NOUN and BEFORE was placed before it.

**how about understanding the rest of the examples, either they were USED AS AN ADVERB OR ADJECTIVE the word after ENOUGH is still A NOUN. tsk tsk tsk

Understand clearly what the 2ND INSTRUCTION is:

ENOUGH is USED AS ADJECTIVES AND ADVERBS. IT DIDN'T SAY IF ENOUGH IS PLACED BEFORE THE ADJECTIVE NOR ADVERBS.

We are talking about its usage.

Reading the INSTRUCTION matters most than commenting on someone else's work. Better check the references that I have been using:

Nice try Nad1a and Lexass… Pls scroll up, it also says PROPER USAGE of ENOUGH.

Enough as an adverb meaning 'to the necessary degree' goes after adjectives and adverbs.

Example:

  • Is your coffee hot enough? (adjective)
  • He didn't work hard enough. (adverb)

It also goes before nouns, and means 'as much as is necessary'. In this case it is not an adverb, but a 'determiner'.

Example:

  • We have enough bread.
  • They don't have enough food.

 ....so I guess Nad1a was right…bummer

lexass girlie if you try to read what was Nad1a's point from saying:

BAD EXAMPLES!!!

and then highlighting the INSTRUCTIONS,

Enough is also used with adjectives and adverbs:

“We didn't have enough time to visit London Bridge.”  (TIME – noun)

“Is there enough milk for breakfast?”(MILK – noun)

“She has enough talent to become an international singing star.” (TALENT – noun)

MY POINT IS AND WHICH IS PRETTY CLEAR AND EASIER FOR ALL THE LEARNERS TO UNDERSTAND, IF THE SIMPLE RULE IS TOO DIFFICULT FOR BOTH OF YOU TO UNDERSTAND THEN IT'S NOT MY PROBLEM. I haven't said her EXAMPLES WERE BAD OR WRONG, read read read.

I have stated the references which will help everyone to know the proper usage. You can make your own lesson elsewhere. Following instruction is just easy as ABC.. girl..  better ask CAMBRIDGE UNIVERSITY if you have further difficulties.

Anyway I have enough of you, girl… Innocent
