I have also heard the phrase "stay tuned" used in different ways.

For example, a radio announcer may say "Stay tuned for the latest news coming up shortly", obviously wanting us to keep listening to the same station on that particular radio wave length.

A boss might tell you, "Stay tuned to what's going on" – that is, wanting you to be aware of the political and economic events taking place around you as these factors could affect business.
