Please type proper English

I want to share something with you guys, since a lot of you are nice members and all. In the past, I used to type like this

ppl instead of people, c u instead of see you, imo instead of in my opinion. Mainly, it was because I wanted to get the point fast in online games. I remember that I was writing an assignment in my first year of university and after writing it I realized I wrote such words and I almost handed it to my professor. It was then I realized I needed to stop typing like this and write proper English instead.

We guys are here to improve our English, and typing like this would only degrade it. In the future, when some of you go to universities in the US or the UK, or when some of you work outside, it would make you look really unprofessional and clumsy, so I ask you, just out of love, type proper English.

Enjoy this funny picture :P

I agree with you 100 % , people should stop writing like that and start writing a complete word instead of writing just some letter although its a fast way to write .

You are right.I faced the problem too but fortunally my friend warned me of such writing before the professors so I have never used it again it's really shameful when you give a professional paper without taking care about your writing.Thank you for posting this thread.

i back u up! specially for people who does'nt  use english as  their fist language, the abbreviative  words or sentences are not easy to unstandand.and it will be harmful for communication.

you are right

in my humble opinion this thing happens because of the media

most of students learn English this way they use the abbreviations always

and insiste to go on this way I do rememeber one of my students

she was using lots of abbreviations and write them always even in the exam

paper they find it difficult to determine whether such words are formal

or unformal ..

thank you so much
