Where is the world going to?

When my grandparents were my age they did not deal with the things I deal with…more and more I feel that people change yeah I know they do it's OK but why are they more and more strange? ppl more and more think about themselves, about money, they are more aggressive, lotta young ppl act as if they were adults, lotta ppl deal with things instead of enjoying life…I can see kids mabye like 11 yrs old and what do they care about? They need to have the latest cell phones, games, clothes and all these unnecessary stuff…or I can see really young kids smoking etc. sure it makes me woner what the world will look like when Im old… like a 6 year old baby walking in the street, dressed like a movie star, smokin a joint and yellin at me like yo grany got some crack? knowhat I mean? Nah Im not old fashioned Im just like…ppl realize who you are…The problem is that it is not only about the way you were brought up by your parents but it's also about all the stuff on TV, in mags etc. People in general are so smart but so silly too…They can make a micro cell with a video camera and I dunno what else …but they fight for money, religion or anything else and make some ** weapons etc. Ppl use all dangerous stuff and destroy the Earth and only only only care about money and when it is too late they start thinking of saving the Earth, like they keep goin on and on about how to stop the global warming and they still do the destroying stuff anyway. From time to time there are ppl who think they can rule the world and they only kill milions of innocent ppl…or young ppl who are so smart some are really into education etc they wanna help and make the world better but there are also some ** who sell drugs etc etc….you know….I dont understand. Back in the day when my grand grandma was a teenager….they didnt care about such stuff and it was all much better…thank God I wont live forver.

You're right. I can't stand younger teenagers thinking that they are the hub of the universe and swearing like a sailor! And I don't understand people living just for making money… Nice topic! :)

Maybe your grandparents wasn´t worried about many things because media in that years wasn´t as powerful as now it is.

It put standards and with all the disinformation that navigates in the internet (the principal source to many young people) makes a rare environment when only everyone and the search of quick pleasure matters.

Hai Joe, bravo for you, it's very realistic topic, but i think you still long enough for enjoying this life … just relax.

You can take an opportunity from this life for yourself – just for you – not the others , because the think that you have now is not a common way in this era. Everyone enjoying this life only for maximize their satisfaction, life is short so they try hard  as fast as posssible for consuming everything that interesting them.

Life is short, that's real, but life with a strange feeling for not missing anything in this world is a curse.  If this practise remaining forever in our mind and nothing gonna change, we are not being a human anymore, even the group of monkey are better if the condition is like this.

When my grandfather was my age (younger by three years or so) he was a lieutenant in the artillary, preparing to participate in the invasion of Japan. His commanding officer told him that their estimated casualty rate was going to be well over 50%, and that he better make his peace with God, because chances were good that they weren't going to get to go home. That he survived at all was because 200,000 or so human beings got turned into glass by the A-bomb.

My maternal grandparents grew up during the Dust Bowl in Oklahoma. One day my Grandma woke up in the middle of a dust storm – that was it, the family farm was gone, the crops ruined for that year. My maternal grandpa survived the Great Depression by continually re-enlisting in the marines, then the War broke out,  at which point he nearly bled to death on some lonely beach because a complete stranger – an enemy soldier – had stabbed him with a bayonet.

Things are bad, but I do not think they are as bad as they were 50-60 years ago.

Haven't you noticed that as the world getting older so as the mind of a young one's?! Do you get my point?

This is the world now… just accept it and ride on it.. as time goes by it will change not only the world itself but also its content. You cannot put back the past not unless you have the power to bring it back.

By the way, my grandparents stories touch my heart and gives me a lot of question, how I wish to be on that time, but what will I do? Its just a remnants of the past and a good memory for the future.

I’m with Al..
things are bad but not as bad as it was 50-60 years a go..
but man that little boy who yelled “do you have some crack” to you need a hard spank on his butt and his parents need to have a knock on the head.
heck when I have a daughter or son he/she will need to learn that no cell no car no credit card until they can even make their own money.
that way they’ll learn to be grateful of what they have in life.
I can feel you, I hate it when kiddos these days got some cell on their pocket and STILL complaining about how dumb their parents are for not buying them a car.
heck I bought every stuff that I want with the money I made when I’m around their age.
