this news is from saudi arabia…and its true believe it or not..still in this world such thinsg are happening..LET ME KNOW UR OPINION GUYS AFTER READING THE STORY

JEDDAH – In one of the strangest marriages in the records of Saudi courts, an 80-year-old man, according to a judge, married a 60-year-old virgin. The woman could not get married before because her father insisted that she and her three sisters (aged 56, 48, and 44) could only marry relatives who must be from the same tribe.
The bride told Arabic daily Al-Watan her uncles had prevented her from marrying even after her father died 25 years ago, noting that many of the women in the family were facing the same problem.
She said the groom’s daughters had finally convinced her to accept the offer of marriage even though she had initially refused.
The Director of the Reconciliation Committee’s branch in Makkah said acts such as those of the father could cause adverse physiological and psychological effects, and that further efforts were needed to raise awareness against such practices.
The Charitable Society to Help Youths Get Married in Jeddah bore all the expenses of the couples’ wedding including assistance in furnishing their house. –

yes it is right they did it in KSA in my country and this is because of the old ideas when some one think that his tribe is the best and he doesn't want any of his daughters to marry some one from another tribe but alot of ppl now knew it is wrong to do that,, I mean to prevent the woman to be married from another tribe if she want because in islam marrige is one of the most important thing to connrct tribes or ppl in general with each other and at the end to show that we are all human being and we are all the same and there arn't any differences between a tribe and an other it is only the name.

you know some thing else alot of diseases inherted in the families because they just marry with there relatives sooo ppl now are more aware of that fact.

any way even though ppl knew it is wrong there is must be some ppl who still think of the opposit  but it is not the majority of course.

thanks for reprting that …

It was a common thing in india too. probably due to islamic influence(not due to islam but due to islamic invaders). it still happens in uneducated parts of the society , some hindu caste due to poor sex ratio(female infanticide), and muslims

it's not due to islamic influence but rather due to arab's influence.arabs used to think they are the best and don't want to marry their daughters to strangers even they are arabs too(from different tribes).islam is against this.marriage connects people from different origins.some people are still following very old and dark thoughts because of ignorance.things must change everywhere.i hope it's changing in KSA.and women must lead struggles for their rights.we don't get anything if we don't fight.

this old woman's experience must give others the courage to say their word in their marriage.

Understanding & maturity is beyond religions, everyone has his own way to understand life & I feel that decision comes first & explanation to that decision comes later on, explanation isjust a justification to one's decision.

Father of those women must be a mad man like me who always think that he is right..

hahahaaaaa
