Slumdog-indian or brittish??

Nw tht slumdog has won several awards director danoy boyle has said its a brittish movie,is it really?? As far i c itr a hardcore indian movie,wud a brit producer,director make it a brit movie??just cause it won 8 oscars,do they belng to uk oi india

If an Indian made the same movie, forget Oscars, it wouldn;t have even won a single filmfare award.

It is just an average A grade Indian movie.

Can;t believe AR rehman won Oscar for such a pathetic songs.

His Tamil compositions are   so beautiful,especially songs of Roja, and also "Vande mataram" song was good.

No java thts a cmpletely diffrnt stry,oscars r 4 hollywood movies n it must have an american or brit director n producer to make it a hollywood film,so indian movies have no chance 4 nominatng in 10 categories,bt i ask does only tht make it a brit movie??

I am not just talking about award, it is about fame as well. Would it have achieved such greatness if an Indian had produced it?

It is a British movies, i.e. a westerners view of India: Poverty, Riots and call center

Yes, It is a wonderful book. 

The most important thing in this book is the protagonist;s name i.e. Ram Mohammad Thomas. 

Ram Mohammad Thomas =  An average Indian

The main reason I do not like the movies is because I have read the book.

Well that is correct, I was under the same impression as well. Ever since this movies got released, I have been badgered with "your country is soo poor"

Who says tht??tell those rich ppl to donate a few million $ to the jinn welfare charity,i cn use tht money to charm some snakes,he he he,neway java u knw whts true n whts nt,so dnt listen to thm,(cncentrate on chrming ur snake,he he he),dnt mind

So, I should ignore the reports that over 27% of the population live below the poverty line and that 75% of those people live in rural areas such as Orissa and Bihar where the poverty rates are 43% and 41% respectively which are among the worst rates in the world or that India has a higher rate of malnutrition among children under three than any other country in the world and that 25% of the country earns less than $0.40 a day. I guess those 236 million people earning less than 20 rupees a day shouldn't worry, thanks to you two experts. 

Is there any way you can contact the government directly to tell that everything is ok and that they shouldn't worry about poverty anymore? This will certainly stop the embarrassment you feel when some ignorant stranger describes India as 'poor'.
