Famous Canadian singer/songwriter Alanis Morissette released her latest album last week. It’s called Under Rug Swept, and it features the hit song “Hands Clean.”
Alanis is one of my favorite singers. She sings with a lot of passion and her lyrics bare her soul. She has a special ability to explain the way she feels in her songs.
Check out some of her lyrics below.

In Alanis’ song “Hands Clean” she sings about a man she is in love with:
If it weren’t for your maturity
none of this would have happened
If you weren’t so wise beyond your years
I would’ve been able to control myself
If it weren’t for my attention
you wouldn’t have been successful and if
If it weren’t for me
you would never have amounted to very much
Alanis is saying that she and the man she loves depend on each other. He makes her a better person, and she makes him a better person. Without each other, they would not be very happy or successful.

Discussion

Alanis Morissette became one of the world’s most popular singers when she released her album Jagged Little Pill in 1995. The album sold over 26 million copies and made Alanis a superstar.
Her latest album isn’t as good as Jagged Little Pill, but Alanis still knows how to make great music.
Do you like Alanis Morissette? Have you listened to Jagged Little Pill? What about Under Rug Swept? Come to the Music Mix message boards and let us know what you think!
Rock on,
Migs
