(n.) A jack-of-all-trades is someone who can do many jobs very well.
Sometimes people call Clint Eastwood a jack-of-all-trades. Eastwood writes movie scripts, directs the movies, and sometimes acts in the movies. He's also a musician and he used to be the mayor of a city in California.
There are other celebrities that fit this description. Michael Jordan is a jack-of-all-trades. He was the best basketball player of all time. However, Jordan also briefly played professional baseball and is a very good golfer as well.
More often, the term is used to describe less-famous people. My father, for example, is a classic example of a jack-of-all-trades. He cooks very well, he flies airplanes, he builds furniture, and he knows many magic tricks.
Perhaps the best example of a jack-of-all-trades is a one-man band. This is a band where one man or woman plays many instruments simultaneously. Looks difficult, doesn't it?
