WOW! I'M SO SURPRISED TO SEE ALL THESE COMMENTS. I WASN'T EXPECTING THAT THERE ARE A LOT OF PEOPLE WHO WANTED TO KNOW HOW TO USE, WHEN TO USE, WHAT THE MEANING IS AND OTHER MORE PHRASES LIKE THESE!

If I was to listen in on one of your conversations throughout the day, what 5 phrases or words would I be most likely to hear?

A. Believe It or Not! deals in bizarre events and items so strange and unusual that readers might question the claims.

example:

a. BELIEVE IT OR NOT! I saw Jack jumping from the building! It was scary!. 

b. I have worked 4 years in England, believe it or not! I never got the chance to see  Queen Elizabeth.

1. "No way, Jose!"

No way - Everyone knows the meaning of NO WAY.

a)It means, NO, SOMEONE DON'T/CAN'T [DO SOMETHING]. 

example:

A. Do you smoke MARIJUANA?  

B. NO WAY, JOSE! I don't even smoke a cigarette.

b)It also means, IT'S UNBELIEVABLE! 

example:

A. John has won the lottery!

B. NO WAY, JOSE! So lucky of him!

 

2. Way to go!

a. It means- SOMEONE DID A VERY GOOD JOB. 

example:

A. I'm so happy that Dana is promoted!

B. Way to go Dana!  You deserved to have a vacation! You're a star in this company! Keep it up!

 

3. You're a star!  - You're the best! You're a darling! You're so good!

example:

a. You're such a very clever little girl, you're a star! I enjoyed watching you singing at your school concert. 

 

4. Keep it up! - Keep doing the good work! and continue doing your best!

example:

a. Ben, you did such a good work, keep it up dude! 

b. Keep it up John! I was impressed with your good character and work!

 

5. “Are you freakin’ kidding me!?!” 

example:

A. Hey don't you dare cheating on me... 

B. Are you freakin' kidding on me? You're my one and only sweetheart!

freaking - adv. & adj. Slang. Used as an intensive: Traffic was a freaking nightmare.

a. “That’s just great! Guess I’ll just freakin’ do everything” (lol)

b. Oh my that's freakin' scary! Don't you ever do that to me again. You're going to give me a heart attack!



6. “Honey, you need to relax a little and then talk”

Verb1.relaxrelax - become less tense, rest, or take one's ease

 example:

A. Hey stop shouting!.. Honey!....  You need to relax.. then talk. We don't need to  fight sweetie.


7. “*sigh* I love you, too… what did you do!?”

example: 


8. “Get off me!”

Slang To act or speak with effrontery. Used in the imperative to express contempt or disdainful disbelief.

example: 

a. "I can't believe what you're saying, get off me!"

b. "Stop annoying me, you better get off me! "


It's weird, we hear those phrases and words but it is true.

9. "Another option is to bugger off and give up; we find that a lot of our clients are choosing this option these days." 

bugger off - Chiefly British Slang To leave someone alone; go away.

 

10. "He did not trouble to call his mother on her birthday"; "Don't bother, please"

Verb1.bother - take the trouble to do something; concern oneself

 

11. "The passenger on the train next to me bothers me so much!"

botherbother - cause annoyance in; disturb, especially by minor irritations.

 

 

 

12. Is it possible to "re-attract" someone who may have blown
you off as too easy or a wussy?

wuss - n. Slang
A person regarded as weak or timid and especially as unmanly: "Cats are for wusses, dog men say" Laura Blumenfeld.
[Probably blend of wimp and pussy1.]

wussy adj.
