When Jason discovered that Devan was selling all of her stuff to buy pot, she basically admitted that her failed crush on Mason was driving her to drugs. So Jason decided to nip the problem in the bud and go straight to Mason to see if he can help.

Jason: Hey, man. I just came to find you. What are you doing out here?

Mason: Dude, I thought you were the pizza guy. He’s like 20 minutes late. I’ve been hanging out here for him. I called five times.

Jason: Oh, wow. Well, I actually just came to find you, ‘cause I wanted to tell you about something that’s going on with Devan.

Mason: Yeah?

Jason: Have you seen her place lately?

Mason: No, no. Never been to her place, actually.

Jason: It’s kinda empty. She seems to have gotten rid of a lot of her stuff. Seems to be kind of selling it to buy drugs.

Mason: Why? I didn’t know she was into that stuff. What’s going on?

Jason: Well, she didn’t used to be and that’s the thing. She has…She had a huge crush on you, which you probably don’t know…yeah…

Mason: Are you kidding me, dude?

Jason: Yeah she did, and I think that a big part of what’s bringing on her downward spiral is that she didn’t actually…

Mason: Dude, I had no idea. I had no idea. Uh, is there anything you think I could do?

Jason: I don’t know. Maybe you could talk to her and just help her feel better about herself and just be like, “You know, it’s not like…I didn’t reject you or anything, I just didn’t know that you were into me…” And let her know that you think she’s cool and everything.

Mason: Yeah, that’s going to be uncomfortable.

Jason: Can you think of anything that would be…

Mason: No, if I can help, dude, I’m totally there for her, but, yeah. Man. What do you think I should do? Should I just go give her a call or stop by?

Jason: Maybe give her a call because, you know, she’s kind of in a bad way and it would probably make her feel worse if you saw her the way she is, so…

Mason: Yeah OK. I’ll do that, man. I’ll do that.

Jason: Alright, cool.

Discussion

Jason finds Mason standing outside of his place waiting for the pizza guy. He asks Mason if he’s been to Devan’s place lately. He says he’s never been there, actually.

So Jason explains that Devan’s place is kind of empty right now because she’s sold a lot of her stuff to buy drugs. He laughs a little as he says that part because it seems so absurd.

Mason didn’t know that Devan had a big crush on him, so Jason tells him about it and tells him that Devan started doing drugs because he started dating Amanda.

Mason asks if there’s anything he can do, and Jason suggests that he call Devan. She probably wouldn’t like for him to see her in person.

I agree…no one can help Devan but herself. Support of friends will do a lot on her but if she doesnt care about their advises ,she will do more harm on herslef than good.

First, she must get that love back on herself , i mean she must learn to value and love herself in the first place and not rely solely on somebody`s love for her to recognize her self worth. Usually, people who go for drugs are those whose self-esteem is very low and rejection from other people specially from a lover is very damaging to them. These people are desparate for love thus looking for them everywhere and to be rejected is their greatest fear.

yes,indeep/ Lots of ppl get into drugs beacuse of the frustration and stress that they go through. They use drugs to take out their frustrations or even hide it. I believe Jason might help her out a little, cuz a social support makes a lot of difference. Devan’s self-confidence seems to be really low at the moment,...

Makes no sense just because she had a " big crush on him". It shows she needs treatment, and probably she had it before she met him. He won´t be the person to help her.

Her family should be informed about it!!!. And Mason could turn things worse.
