When you fall in love with somebody, you don’t want to think about how this person may have loved someone else before you. But it’s even worse if your new boyfriend or girlfriend has an ex who is still in his or her life. And what’s worse than one ex who won’t move on? Seven.
In Scott Pilgrim vs. The World, Michael Cera plays a boy who meets the girl of his dreams. But there is one big problem. Actually, there are seven big problems. Amy: So, Michael Cera is in another movie playing another shy, awkward character.
Jeff: For some reason I don’t find that surprising.
Amy: Yeah.
Jeff: He’s been typecast.
Amy: Have you heard about his new movie, Scott Pilgrim vs. The World?
Jeff: I guess he’s the awkward guy who meets a beautiful, interesting girl and really wants to date her? That’s the story?
Amy: Yes, but there’s a catch .
Jeff: Which is?
Amy: She has seven evil ex-boyfriends, and he has to fight each one of her ex-boyfriends in order to win her, in order to get the girl. So I guess he, you know, he asks her to go out with him and she’s interested but first he has to defeat her ex-boyfriends.
Jeff: Let’s hope it works out for Scott. I haven’t been in that position myself.
Amy: Really? You’ve never fought anybody for a girl?
Jeff: Not physically, no, mind games .
Amy: Yeah. No one’s ever gotten in a physical fight over me. But, you know, maybe one day. A girl can dream.
Jeff: Maybe one day.

Amy and Jeff talk about the new Michael Cera move, Scott Pilgrim vs. The World. In the film, Scott Pilgrim is an awkward boy who meets the girl of his dreams. She likes him, too, but before they can go out he has to defeat her seven evil ex-boyfriends.
Jeff says he has never gotten into a physical fight with another guy over a girl. Amy wishes two guys had fought over her before. But it has never happened. Jeff thinks she should be patient, and maybe one day, she’ll get her wish.
