Kyle: Stephanie, yesterday I walked across town. It took me about two hours from my place to a friend’s house.
Steph: That’s cool. Did you walk across downtown or?
Kyle: Actually, I headed down from the NW part of town and crossed the river and up into the park area around Laurelhurst.
Steph: Oh. That’s neat. Did you walk on the Esplanade?
Kyle: I did. I walked on it and then later in the day I actually went down and ran around it.
Steph: Oh my gosh. Are you trying to get in shape or something?
Kyle: I actually have been getting a little worried about my weight these days. And I figured with the sunshine, I am gonna get out and be more active.
Steph: Yeah. You may as well take advantage of it. That’s cool.
Kyle: Yeah. It was great. But, uh, feet are a little sore today.
Steph: Yeah. You’ll get used to it. Just keep on trucking along.
Kyle: Exactly.

The Esplanade is a really neat part of Portland that was built recently. Before it was built, there was no place to walk along the river.
Nowadays, people go to the Esplanade to read, to do exercise, to have a picnic or just to chill out.
I love going to the Esplanade to walk. It’s really great for Portland to have such a beautiful place to go on sunny days.
Does your town or city have a nice place for people to go and walk around?
