In the Macmillan dictionary is says get something off to have a particular period of time as a vacation.

Get off sounds too slangish for me. Isn’t it too rude to use it? Aren’t there dictionaries that may specify the meaning in different fields? I was gonna ask my writer from term paper help to give me an official definition as a slang item.
