Not everyone can dance. It can take a lot of work to become a good dancer. “Dancing with the Stars” is a fun show to watch because viewers can see some of their favorite celebrities learning to dance.

“Dancing with the Stars” is a competition where famous people must train in different dancing styles. Some of the more popular stars on the show are very inspiring because they gradually become better dancers.

Julie tells Jessica about how much she enjoys watching the competition show. Find out more in today’s English lesson about learning to dance on the air.

Jessica:  So, Julie, I just saw that “Dancing with the Stars” is on.

Julie:  Is it really?

Jessica:  Yes. And I can’t believe that it’s still on the air.

Julie:  It’s really popular. People really enjoy watching the competitors gradually improve. Because in the beginning there’s fumbling and making mistakes. But you can see them improve and it’s inspiring.

Jessica:  That’s really cool. And it’s incredible to see how much training goes into learning a routine. And how much endurance it takes to perform.

Julie:  I just feel like some people have an unfair advantage because they might have a background in dancing. They’re more likely to advance further in the show than if they were all amateurs to start.

Jessica:  That makes sense. Oh, you’re making it sound very interesting. Maybe I will give it a try.

Julie:  We can have a “Dancing with the Stars” girls’ night.

Jessica:  Oh, that sounds like a lot of fun.

Julie thinks that “Dancing with the Stars” is an inspiring show. Viewers can see some of their favorite celebrities work hard to become better dancers. However, she does feel that it’s unfair if one of the celebrities has a background in dancing.

Jessica is surprised that “Dancing with the Stars” is still on the air. But after hearing Julie talk about it, she’s more interested in watching. Jessica thinks it’s interesting how hard people will work to win the competition.

Have you ever seen the show “Dancing with the Stars?” Does the show sound interesting to you?

Yes, it’s much more interesting when shows LIVE , either on the air or right on stage. I love it and it’s must be  a lot work before the show. I’m so amazed when they have no mistake in their dance. Kinda having amazing goal on their performance.

Dear Julito, when I first came here I also didn’t know that this site had an Argentine who would make our days wonderful by his comments.

Ditti, husbands are always honest when it comes to saying how bad we are at doing things. If you are already married you might know this.

I practice dancing regularly, and I’m a bit better than before now. Thanks for asking.

The only time I tried to dance, I sprained my leg. That night, I couldn’t sleep from pain. I spent the whole night Awake with the Stars.

I like dancing, used to teach ballet, still dance and will never stop. I have a very good sense of rythm and very much interested in keeping my long life skill and developing it more and more. Practice makes perfect, you know;) But I don’t watch “Dancing with stars” I don’t know why. Wether I crave for more dance backround show. I know one of the dancers is supposed to be a pro. But the exciting proceses is mostly for who, for a star, but not for a watcher, I guess. I really like “So you think you can dance” show. Where the tough competition is involved and the best from the best are picked to amaze us with their incredible talented moves, pas, turns, jumps – you name it. But dancing with stars is more or less fun show for the people who take part in it. I love more dramatic stuff. And only professionals can get it through your senses.

I haven’t seen it, but it sounds like my kind of show. Dancing is a great stress-buster to me. I’m all for anything that is associated with dance.

But unfortunately like our dear Julito I also have two left feet and can’t dance properly.

Once when I was dancing with my husband I said, “Oh, I want to dance like this forever.”

He was shocked and said, “What?!! Don’t you want to improve?!!!”

I have seen this show as it had been populor for some time.Compared with dance wiyth celebrity,i am more like so you think you can dance. There are many competitors in this show got very touching tear-jerker stories. They use 10 minutes dance and the other 15 or 20minutes told stories.the TV producer let celebrties to describe how hard their partner was, kept dancing, never had the throught of gaven up.It was true that celebrities are more convincing. But i can’t stand with that business mode.

TV producers in my country  have put on the air a copy of this show under the name of  ”bailando por un sueño” dancing for a dream . This show gets high ratings , mostly because    show business , sport  and other  well known  figures  take part in this competition. In spite of the buzz  and the propaganda i don`t see the show .The main reason is that watching these people dancing  makes me aware  that i have two “dumb” legs . hahahaha

Yes, of course it sounds interesting to me ! I haven’t seen “Dancing with the stars”, but I watched some similar Hugarian shows. I love this kind of show because I like dances very much, but unfortunatly I am too famble to do it! :-(  And it is also good to see how can people improve during a few weeks.

I always admired people who are professional at dance.

And of course I love dancing films like Dirty dancing, Flashdance and so on. I thin dancing is one of the most beautiful and attractive art.
