Imagine this: You want to travel to other country to study English, but you are not sure where to go. You get your friends together to ask them for advice. You want them to brainstorm fun countries where people speak English. How can you let your friends know that you are listening carefully to their suggestions? You could smile, of course, or nod. You could also tell them that you are listening by saying, “I’m all ears!”

We use the expression “all ears” to let someone know that we are ready to listen carefully to what they are about to say. For example, if your mom is about to tell you a story, you might let her know, “I’m all ears!” If your friend is trying to figure out what to wear to dinner, he might ask you, “What do you think? I’m all ears.” Saying “all ears” is like telling someone, “I’m listening. Go ahead!”

Dominique is taking suggestions from the team on how to expand Travel Bug. Watch the video to find out what ideas they come up with.

3. Watch - Watch the video without reading the dialog.

Dominique:  Alright team. We need to come up with some new ideas for this month. I’d like to expand Travel Bug, but I need some help, so I’d like to brainstorm with you. Let me know any ideas you have. I am all ears. Seriously. Any ideas. Anyone.

Sheila:  We could expand our website.

Dominique:  I like this. In what way?

Andy_H:  I’ve got it! What if we…

Sheila:  What?

Andy_H:  Never mind.

Dominique:  OK. Kelsey, any thoughts?

Kelsey:  I do have one idea…

Dominique:  Alright…

Kelsey:  Well…

Andy_H:  I really like this idea, Kelsey. Getting out of the office was a good idea.

Dominique:  I do feel a little better. It’s good to get a different perspective. If this inspires ideas from anyone, I am all ears!

Sheila:  I’ve got it. What if we started giving tours?

Kelsey:  That sounds like fun!

Andy_H:  I like that idea.

Sheila:  I know. Our tours could give people a different perspective on their vacation, their adventure, or even just their day!

Dominique:  I like this.

Andy_H:  Travel Bug, your everyday...

Sheila:  Travel Bug, not just your average travel…

Kelsey:  Travel Bug, your everyday travel experience. There it is.

Dominique asks the team for help. She would like to expand Travel Bug, but she is not sure how to. Shelia thinks they should add to their website. However, no one knows what to add. It seems like everyone is out of ideas until Kelsey suggests that they get out of the office.

It turns out that a change of scenery helps everybody think! The team is able to get a new perspective. Sheila suggests giving tours. The tours could give people a different point of view on their vacation, their adventure, or even their day. With this new plan, Travel Bug will definitely be “your everyday travel experience!”

Have you even been on a tour? Where would you like to have a vacation?

Yes, I have even been on a tour. That was after my wedding.

There are many beautiful places worth seeing in our country. The most where I want to go is Tibet and the desert in inner Mongolia and Xinjiang.

But we chose “Kunming” and “lijiang” in Yunnan.
