There are many times in life when we can’t focus. Maybe, we are distracted with lots of problems. Or maybe, we are distracted with good things! But if we are too distracted, we can’t pay attention to what is happening right now. It is like crossing a street and looking at the bright lights above you. If you’re not looking, you can get hit! You may be blindsided.
When you are blindsided, you are hit when you are unaware. This expression is often used in sports. Players will get hit by others when they are not looking… as in, they are hit on their blindside.
Jennifer Lawrence was blindsided recently. Someone got into her personal computer and looked at her files. They invaded her privacy without asking. They showed this information to people and it went viral. She is now scared to be distracted. She feels like she needs to look everywhere so she does not get blindsided again.
