The new movie Kill Bill: Volume 2 continues the story-line which unfolded in Kill Bill: Volume I. It is a simple revenge story about an expert assassin (Uma Thurman) who sets out on a quest to kill her former employer, Bill, and other members of their assassin clan. She wants vengeance because they tried to kill her on the day of her wedding and killed all of guests in attendance, including her fiance.
Miguel recently watched Kill Bill: Volume 2. Listen in to his conversation with Beth to learn more about the film.

Miguel:  Beth, did you see Kill Bill?

Beth:  I saw Volume I and I’m looking forward to seeing Volume 2.

Miguel:  I actually didn’t see Volume I, but I saw Volume 2 last night and it’s awesome. It’s such a great movie.

Beth:  Oh, that’s cool. Well, now I’m getting excited about seeing it since there’s so much hype about it, and, uh – what did you like about Volume 2?

Miguel:  Well, the main thing is I heard the first one was just full of violence and it was all pretty much fighting for the whole movie, but Volume 2 was much more like a story, and it had a lot of dialogue and it was just one of those movies that you just feel really like you saw something cool. Like it was something that you never would have thought of, but it just made you happy that you saw it.

Beth:  That’s cool. Volume I was a bit violent, but it sounds like Volume 2 really finishes off the story, so it’ll be cool to see how everything is tied together.

Miguel:  Yeah. It definitely was. And, I mean, it also does a good job of explaining the story if you’ve missed the first one. So, I would recommend it, you know, to someone who has seen the first one, or even if they haven’t.

Discussion

I’ve seen both of the Kill Bill movies and I really enjoyed them both. They are very different from each other, and each is good for its own reasons. The story told in the Kill Bill films is actually a very simple, but the way the story is told is totally unique and extraordinarily exciting.
I really dig Quentin Tarantino, who wrote and directed Kill Bill. They guy just knows how to make great movies. Every one of his films is worth watching at least once, and most of them are good enough to see 3 or 4 times at least. I’ve probably seen Pulp Fiction over 10 times and I’d be happy to watch it again.
See you at the movies!
Zach
