Overview
ELS Language Centers has helped over 1,000,000 international students from 140 countries around the world learn English. Building on its many years of experience, ELS has developed its own unique curriculum, textbooks, and branded language-learning software.
With over 50 US locations, ELS is the largest network of campus-based English language instruction centers in the world and offers international students a wide range of academic English and test preparation programs, as well as Executive English programs, youth and vacation programs.
Academic English Programs
The Intensive English program (30 lessons per week) is divided into 12 levels from Beginning to Masters levels. Each level takes approximately four weeks to complete. All language skills are taught including Reading/Writing in the afternoons.
A Semi-Intensive English program(20 lessons per week) is also available providing the same morning instruction as the Intensive English program but with afternoons free.
Students at the intermediate and advanced levels in both programs may choose from a variety of special interest programs, such as TOEFL Preparation, Pronunciation, Current Events and Idiomatic English.
Standardized Testing
To help you better plan for your studies in the United States, ELS has created a Pre-Arrival Test (PAT). The PAT is a quick, inexpensive and easy way to find out your current English proficiency. With that information in hand, you will know how much time you will need to complete a course of study at ELS. You will also know in advance whether you qualify for advanced level courses offered by ELS, such as the Complete Prep Program for the TOEFL® iBT, or Prep for the GRE® or GMAT®.
ELS University Placement Service
