There is a Chinese story of an old farmer who had an old horse for tilling his fields. One day the horse escaped into the hills and, when all the farmer's neighbours sympathised with the old man over his bad luck, the farmer replied, 'Bad luck? Good luck? Who knows?'

A week later the horse returned with a herd of wild horses from the hills and this time the neighbours congratulated the farmer on his good luck. His reply was, 'Good luck? Bad luck? Who knows?'

Then, when the farmer's son was attempted to tame one of the wild horses, he fell off its back and broke his leg. Everyone thought this very bad luck. Not the farmer, whose only reaction was, 'Bad luck? Good luck? Who knows?'

Some weeks later the army marched into the village and conscripted every able-bodied youth they found there. When they saw the farmer's son with his broken leg they let him off. Now was that good luck? Bad luck? Who knows?

Hello, Naitaupul and Julito ! Thank you that you include to my blog! :)

Julito, that was very bad luck but I hope that your fellow's son is ok and at home now!  I think if your fellow hadn't win the lottary he must searched money from other places to pay to kidnappers. Well he has given the win but his son has been ok. This is the real life. The most important is we and our family to be healthy and  togehter.

Interesting teaching. I remember a fellow that won the lottery, his friends might have thought how lucky he was but it turned out  that his son  was kidnapped  and in exchange for his life , the kidnappers requested  a large sum of money .. Bad luck !!!!!!

Thank you, dear Irene! I am glad that you like this story.

I know what is to have very very bad events and after that you think  differently. Than the smaller worries and anger aren't important. I mean for example you're late and the bus doesn't  coming - Ok, it isn't the worst thing, or you didn't pass an exam - Ok but you will pass  next time. There are much small troubles that people anger every day but they don't have to do this because this is not the worst and it is right that you said  : Tomorrow will be a better day ! :)

I don't wish to anyone to have bad events in his/her life.I hope you will have only good moments with happiness , love ,health and positive emotion. <3

Dear Sofia,  the story is very didactic.

In fact our life is striped and sometimes white changes into black. We can do nothing but accept it. Even the worst events in our life, which are inescapable, have to be lived over.

Let's remember the saying which are the basic for my life:  Whatever happens, it happens for good." So let's not forget that tomorrow will be a better day. :)

Collect your bright moments in the bag for happiness and shine forever and ever.

Thanks a million  for the lesson. ♥

This story has happened many times in my life!

Sometimes one thing  happened and I told myself , wow how much I'm  lucky!!
But over time I realized that  event  was not a chance for me ,it was my misfortune!!!! :(
Or vice versa!

Maybe its not always like this but the future is uncertain for us!

The point is that when a bad thing happens  dont worry ,dont lose your hope , maybe it will have a benefit for us in future!:)

Good Luck my friend!:)

When something bad happen to me I tell to myself " Ok, every bad is for good" or " After bad comes good" :) I think that the meaning of this story is the the same  :)

I cannot agree with it more...Misfortune may be an actual blessing. When something terrible happened, I just told myself"This is the best thing that could have ever happened to me."
