It's my pleasure to tell you something about Double Seventh Festival in China. Well, where to begin. About this festival this was a story passed down from generation to generation.

Long time ago, there was a young man called Niu Lang. His parents died when he was still a little boy, so his brother and brother's wife took care of him. But his sister-in-law was not very kind, and when Niu Lang grew up, she did not allow Niu Lang to live with them. So Niu Lang lived alone and supported himself by farming and herding cattle.

One day, a fairy Zhi Nv from the Heaven saw Niu Lang and fell in love with him. She came down from the Heaven secretly and married with Niu Lang. Everyday Niu Land did farming in the field while Zhi Nv wove at home. They lived a happy life and gave birth to a boy and a girl. Unfortunately, the God of the Heaven found this and orded the Queue to bring Zhi Nv back to the Heaven. With the help of Celestial Cattle, Niu Lang flied to the Heaven with their two kids to meet Zhi Nv. But the Queue did not want Niu Lang and Zhi Nv to meet with each other, so she polled out one of her gold hairpins from her hair bun and made the Milky. Niu Lang and Zhi Nv were seperated by the Milky.

However, Birds knew all about this and they were deeply touched by them. Tens of thousands of birds flying to the sky made a bright for Niu Lang and Zhi Nv. In the end, the GOD of the Heaven allowed Niu Lang and Zhia Nv to meet once a year on the 7th day of the 7th lunar month.

After that, people in China celebrate this festival as Valentine's Day. On that day, lovers make lili-water with white paper, set a red candle in the center of the lili-water and put it into the river. It is said that God will bless them. They will get married and accompany each other in the rest of their lifetime.

On the 7th day of the 7th lunar month, when the sky is dotted with stars, people can see the Milky River and at each side of the river, there is a bright star. That's Niu Lang and Zhi Nv star and if your eyesight is wonderful enough, you can see two small stars at each side of one of the two stars. They are Niu Lang and Zhia Nv's two kids.

So, that's all about it. I hope you enjoy this story.

Some people believe that children should be allowed to stay at home and play until they are six or seven year old. Others believe that it is important for young children to go to school as soon as possible.

What do you think are the advantages of attending school from a young age?

In many places today, children start primary school at the age of 6 or 7 years old. However, most of parents nowadays both work full-time and they are unable to take care of their children in daytime hours, so there is little opportunity for children to stay at home up to that age. Instead, children are sent to a nursery school or a preschool before beginning their student life in a primary school.

While some people think this may be damaging the relationship between parents and their children. Because if parents send their children to a nursery school, they will have little time to spend with their children, in fact there are many advantages in attending school from a young age.

Firstly, those who having school experience at their early age have good interpersonal relationship with others. They tend to get on well with other children of a similar age and be good at making friends as well. This is less likely happen at home when they are the only child or their brothers and sisters are younger or older than them.

Furthermore, children will learn to interact with a lot of different people. They are generally more confident and independent than children who stay at home with parents and who are not used to strangers or new situations. Such children find their first day at school very frightening and this may have a negative effect on their study.

To sum up, I believe that children should be encouraged to go to a nursery school and preschool before attending primary school. Attending nursery school may be the best way to provide them basic skills which they will benefit a lot in their further study as well as giving them an advantages of intergrating into study envoriment as quickly as possible.

If All the Skies Were Sunshine

                                     By H. Van Dyke

If all the skies were sunshine,

                Our faces would be fain

To feel once more upon them

                The cooling splash of rain.

If all the world were music,

                Our hearts would often long

For one sweet strain of silence

                To break the endless song.

                If life were always merry,

                Our souls would seek relief

                And rest from weary laughter

In the quiet arms of grief.
