Handwriter, what I think, we need to speak with confidence, without fear being corrected, laughted at, mocked at, said something behind our backs. If you speak with confidence no matter what your English is, the people will think - wow, this guy's English is not that bad. But if you mumble and are afraid of every single phrase to be pronounced, then the language would be accepted with the same value.

Thank you Ola.  I have always had a phobia of speaking directly (face-to face) with a native speaker of English -- maybe I am afraid to be found a farce of English.  I mean, I am learning how to manipulate the language of English on paper, but to speak it has been a constant challenge -- as well, spelling!  !Hijole!  However, if I do say so myself, I have come a long way since I first began to seriously study this somewhat backward language.  I mean, I am thinking that maybe I can speak English with less of an  accent than was so pronounced before in that maybe a native speaker might think of me as a native speaker as well (just maybe being unsure as to what region I come from) -- I still remember the countless, and painful hours that I worked with others on pronunciation -- I think that it has paid off.  I still study English every day -- I listen to it, I read it, I write it, and I dream it -- I would eat it too, probably, if I could.

Yes, that's true. I would never pay attention on sb's accents. I'm speaking with an accent myself but sometimes, if one word wrongly and vividly pronounced, it might be repeated in a mocking way by someone more knowledgeable in this field. Accent is such a thing that should be worked on. I have relaxed recently, not paying attention on my speech and started making funny mistakes. Well, having visited the website below and listened to a text in English accent, i found my mistakes. Somehow, by coincidence, there were two words that I repeatedly made mistakes within a month and people picked on them. Looks like the words in this text has been collected by an linguists who knew where the non-native speaker might have problems.
