But that's just it, I don't think that she is fat.  I mean when I thought to get the pants, I wasn't thinking that she had outgrown her pants, but that... Well, the truth is, I didn't thnk.  Now I am doing a lot of thinking.  :)

it's a very interesting phonomenon - aging. i just listened on Ipod the sound that you're supposedly can't hear when you're less than 30, 40 and 50, I was glad to find out I'm still in the range of 30-40. But less then 30 - I was dead deaf while my son could hear it well. This is one of the uncontrollable, unchangeable, irreversable thing and when it happens that makes you cry, but not me :))

Generally, there are certain things women do not want to hear from men whether as a joke or abuse. One of the most important thing is that she looks fat. So you have to be careful handwriter and rectify the situation.

Tried-To-Be-Fit: How was I to know?  My wife, whom I have loved and cherished for the last 25 years, was in on the bed with a hanger in hand trying to zip up a pair of her favorite blue jeans.  She didn't know that I had seen her.  Now, being the loving and caring husband I am, I found the size of the jeans, and went to buy her the same pair, but a size up.  Wouldn't you know it: when I presented her with what I had thought had been a thoughtful gift, and when she noted the size tag, she began to cry, mumbling something about how I thought that she was fat.
