Ha!  Ha!  I think you're right.

Actually, I think that both are 'chickens,' but only the female is referred to as a "hen.". In some forms of English the male 'chicken' is called a "rooster."  Let it hatch in your mind, however, I'm not a chicken expert.  Cluck! Cluck! jeje
