A HISTORY IN A LETTER PART 2 (being continued)

Sorry about the grammar errors, but it is sufficiently readable, so I will leave it as it is.  The 'mum' 'mom' is a matter of where one learned English -- I guess.  So I learned and use both.  In Canada, we had various English teachers -- some where from America, and they taught 'mom'.  Other teachers, who were from Europe, taught 'mum' or 'mom'.  You know, I still have to use a dictionary, and I have been saved more than once by a Spell Check and Google. Yes, I know, that Google is far from being perfect when it comes to translations -- but for me, it has been workable.  I guess you need to know how to use it, and to take the translations with "A Grain of Salt".
