Do with others what you did with me—simply say hello.  Now, I must tell you that this really isn't a site for group hugs or close relationship correspondences. I mean, you may at first exchange some meaningful messages, and just maybe some true, and lasting friendships may evolve—but most likely not.  People here can be like waves of the sea—they will splash up against you for a moment but then quickly roll on by.  You know, people can be finicky at times—you can never know what they will do next.  If you come here with the mindset of maybe getting to know a few people but knowing also that soon they will be moving on to other things—and if you’re not expecting too much from people here—but that they are here for maybe the same reason(s) you are: maybe loneliness, or wanting to possibly get a few quick and free pointers about English, boredom, etc., you’ll do fine here.   At any rate, just be yourself, be as honest as possible without offending anyone or setting yourself up to be hurt or cheated—and you will do fine.
