The mind is the enemy; listen to it; get to know it, possibly learn from it, but never submit to it.

Wonderful!  Attending to your happiness is what will determine your state of happiness. Happiness is conscious, therefore, it is a self-activated state.

Is being 'over the moon' more a state of mind or a state of being?

Yep, nobody likes the stressful situation and is trying to get out of it as soon as possible, the stressful mind is looking for ways out and the first that comes to mind is food that is supposed to bring the hormon of joy to a stressful mind. It might be a sweet, junk food, ice cream, not a carrot :). That's why before starting a day, the mind should told what to eat and what not eat and what must be eaten and it's not about food, it's about everything, our reaction to stress.

You snapped out at work, you threw a chair at someone (it's good you get away with it, like our ballet teacher - she used to throw chairs at us if we danced bad and she insulted us any possible wierd words. I heard some great people had that rage temper, but their talent prevailed and they got away with their bad behaviour) But if the simple small person will say something in that vein, he'll be fired, his carrer would be ruined and he'll be suferring the consequences of a bad mouth temper. So, in that case, it's better to set up the day with no matter what happens, I'll be calm as a Hindu cow. :)

Exactly--a case in point: we have allowed the mind to control a certain aspect, routine, or 'habit' in us that now the mind has complete control over that aspect of us--such as eating when maybe nervous, bored, etc.

Hi, Handwriter :) I saw you yesterday :))

I think if we do something many times, by the scientists it's approved that it has to be 40 times, we chisel a groove in our mind of as a habit. And after, you don't need to think twice, the action is done without any thinking. The power of mind that can make anything into a habit.

Hi ola.  Long-time no-see.  How have you been?

About the mind and, say the call for cooking dinner: is it the mind or the body making that call?  Does my mind expect that the body should eat at a certain time, and that dinner has always been cooked at a certain time of the day?  I submit that it is the mind that interrupts our body’s needs.

Depends what's in your head. Somemes it's very difficult to fullfil the minds comments. You know that you need to cook dinner now, your mind demands, 'cook dinner, cook dinner' and you're lying on the sofa reading a book. So that's kind of struggle and you think of a magic button on which you press and by magic wand fly over to the kitchen with the veggies cut, the dishes clean and all that preparation stuff. :)
