“out to pasture”

“I feel like I’m an example of the fact that you just can’t put those old gals out to pasture. We’ve got a lot of stuff still to say.”Actress Meryl Streep... Blah!  Blah!  Munch!  Munch!

May be that is why they are put "out to pasture"—that’s all they can now do—is talk about stuff and eat foods such as green vegies and other such simple staples, but they can do little else.  I am only kidding of course.  Nice lesson.

I love old horses--I mean women--I mean horses.

Look, all kidding aside, people of our pasts should never be forgotten and should always be honored and respected.  But it is of new voices that must be heard today in today's world.  Few of the words used or spoken in the past are of little or no use in today's world.  Sure the golden proverbial and philosophies are pleasant to hear and to ponder—and maybe even to live—but these words of principal are natural words and natural thoughts—they never change through time.  There’re sort of “common sense” words—such words are like physics—always being constants.

All that text-scratch was supposed to be of an old woman mounted on an old horse. -- makes for a good effect, no?
