Only 10% of the conditions of life or life-circumstances—jobs, relationships, financial situations, health, etc.,—influence our  happiness.

When thinking of ways to make ourselves happier, these are some of the things we focus on—our friends, family relationships, etc.  But why—why do we tend to focus so much of our energy on things that can barely—if even—make us the slightest bit happier?

What do I mean when I use the word "happiness"?  I mean to say, having a subjective sense of well-being.
