When learning a language I tend to do a lot of studying one week and not so much the next. I get in the zone, do lots of studying for a few days and then cut back on the hours for the next few days.

It's hard to try and find the right balance when it comes to learning English, but one piece of advice I'd like to share is to try and make it part of your routine. Find a time period in your day where you can commit to learning English and stick with it. Make yourself study at that time every day (or whichever days you are available). A good way to do this is to take English lessons online or face to face. If you prefer to self-study then try not to make any excuses - stick with your routine.

My problem is that my routine is very flexible and there are days when I'm very busy and other days when I'm not so busy. Do you have similar problems or are you able to make studying English part of your routine?

Something else I wanted to talk about is how easy it seems to find ways to practice reading, listening and grammar but not speaking and writing. Try to find ways to implement more speaking into your learning. An easy way to do this is to read news articles or other texts out loud instead of in your head. It's not the same as holding a natural conversation but it's still a good way to practice speaking.
