English Conversation Lessons

As an English teacher, the number one request I get is for conversation lessons; in fact, the first conversation usually goes something like this:

Me: So, why do you want English lessons?

Student: I feel that I don't get enough practice speaking English, and my English speaking skills are a lot lower than my reading and writing skills.

In order to improve your English speaking skills you need to practice speaking as much as possible. And to make fast improvements, it is best to find someone who can correct your mistakes so that you don't keep committing the same ones.

Many of you might not be aware that there are two great ways to have conversations with feedback, these are:

• Taking English conversation lessons, and,
• Finding a language exchange partner.

The first option is probably the best as the English teacher is trained in giving you the best feedback on your mistakes. The second option is a free option, the only problems are that it is hard to find someone who is willing to really help you for free, and you have to spend half of the time speaking in your language.

It is uncommon for most students to be able to live in an English speaking country and immerse themselves in the language; the two options that we have talked about - English conversation lessons and a language exchange - are two very practical ways to help you with your English speaking.
