Venezuela

 PART II

Go into the Venezuelan gastronomy is submerge in a world of aromas and flavors that delineate the space of a kitchen of marked tastes and showy colors, of indigenous roots and of hereditary European influence, the kitchen of these lands is the merger of several cultures, but with  a marked personality.

The most representative foods of Venezuela are: The Pabellón Criollo, The Arepa, The Hallaca, The Cachapa, Empanadas, between others.

Arepas are de most popular food in Venezuela, everybody (poor and rich people); eat this food in breakfast and especially in dinner.  It is makes with corn´s flour and some people refill the arepas with meat, others with chicken. Also you can put them cheese and a variety of fillings that varies according to the taste of people. Everyone when comes to Venezuela have to eat a delicious Arepa.

Other popular food from Venezuela, (my favorites), is The Hallaca.  We don´t have Christmas without Hallacas, by this reason It specially prepare for Christmas in all country. It makes with corn´s flour as Arepas, but it is covered with leaf of banana and we refill them with meat of cow, pork and chicken (some people just refill them with meat or chicken). Also, we put with the meat, european and Mediterranean ingredients, such as: Olives, raisin and capers. It is because Hallacas was invented in the colonial age, when slaves cooked for Spanish families; they used to unite extra foods of their owner to make their food. With the passage of time, the Hallaca, becomes a delicious food in Venezuelan.

The Venezuelan kitchen is characterized by the use of the maize, yucca, banana, chili, grains, tubers, sugar cane, meats and varied birds, wherefrom they derive plates with the only and extraordinary flavors.

This next September 26th, Venezuela is going to make a new parliamentary election. In this opportunity, Venezuelans will choose 165 Deputies, two benches less that in the election of 2005, and also they will choose 12 Deputies for the Latin-American Parliament, it will allow renewing all members of the national assembly. Deputies who are elect, will assume his duty on January 5, 2011, and will remain in their assignments until January 5, 2016.

The election will be realized under the premise of the system of proportional personalized representation, according to the population base of 1, 1 % of total population of the country. In addition, federal entities will choose three Deputies, as well as also indigenous peoples, who have right to choose three representatives in three of their special circumscriptions. These have the responsibility of representing the people and the States in the national assembly.

The official party PSUV (propel it the president Hugo Chavez), seeks to retain a majority of the National Assembly, which they have dominated since past choice, in 2005, when opponent parties to Chavez boycotted the election, and many of them declined to take part, invoking " lack of electoral guarantees ".

This New electoral process, (AS THE PREVIOUS ONES), will be at the expense of the national electoral advice; Organ independent in the Venezuelan state. In addition, the process will be supervised by different political organizations and international organizations of different parts of the world, as: Union Nations, European Union, The Carter Center, as well as also, electoral organisms of different countries.

PART I

Venezuela is located in the north of South America, our official language is Spanish, but some native languages are official at different communities.

Venezuela is a federal republic; it is divided in 23 states and Caracas like the capital district, Also Venezuela claims to Guyana the Esequibo territory, this territory was stolen for England in 1814.

Here lives around 30 millions of people, the capital city is Caracas, but Maracaibo located in the west, represents the second city of the country.  Our currency is Bolivar Fuerte and our principal product of exportation is oil.

The Venezuela´s president is Hugo Chavez, but in our nation each state has a gubernator, also every state is divided in municipalities and these are directed by mayors. They integrate the Executive power. We have a congress, a supreme court of justice and other institutions of state. All these authorities are chosen by elections.

The most common religion is Catholicism but there are lot religions too, because our constitution dedicates the right to the freedom of worship. It means everyone can belong to any religion.

In the next delivery you will know more about Venezuela.
