''my alarm clock didn't go off.'' ''the dog ate my appointment book.'' ''i don't remember where i parked my car.'' Excuses,excuses-we've all heared them, and the most of us have used a few of them ourselves specially at school. Excuses are learned from early childhood. When a child drops sth and begins to cry,the parent will often console him by saying,''i know you didn't mean to do it.it was too heavy for you.'' By adulthood most of people have become masters at the art of excuse-making.but there are differences between a good excuse and a bad excuse. The workplace is fertile ground for excuses, particulary those offered by late-arriving employees, ''as a joke,my 6-year-old son set all the clocks back an hour.'' Sometimes an excuse deserves to be accepted just on the basis of sheer originality, don't you think?
