Majestic and mysterious, inspiring and imperious: words alone cannot do justice to the natural wonder that is Halong Bay. Imagine 3000 or more incredible islands rising from the emerald waters of the Gulf of Tonkin and you have a vision of breathtaking beauty. Halong Bay is pure art, a priceless collection of unfinished sculptures hewn from the hand of nature.

In 1994 it was designated a World Heritage site. Visitors can't help but compare the magical, mystical landscape of limestone islets to Guilin in China and Krabi in southern Thailand, but in reality Halong Bay is more spectacular. These tiny islands are dotted with beaches and grottoes created by the wind and waves, and have sparsely forested slopes ringing with birdsong.

Beyond the breathtaking vistas on a boat cruise through the bay, visitors to Halong come to explore the caves - some of which are beatifully illuminated for the benefits of tourists - and to hike in Cat Ba National Park. There are few real beaches in Halong Bay, nut Lan Ha Bay ( off the coast of Cat Ba Island ) has more than 11 sandy strips.

As the number - one tourist attraction in the northeast, Halong Bay draws a steady stream of visitors year-round. From February to April, the weather in this region is often cold and drizzly, but this adds an ethereal air to the place and the temperature rarely falls below 10 degree celcius. During the summer months tropical storms are frequent, and tourist boats may have to alter their itineraries, depending on the weather.

Halong Bay is the stuff of myths and naturally the Vietnamese have concocted one. Halong translates as "where the dragon descends into the sea". Legend has it that the islands of Halong bay were created by a great dragon that lived in the mountains. As it charged towards the coast, its flailing tail gouged out valleys and crevasses. When it finally plunged into the sea, the area filled with water, leaving only the pinnacles visible.

After finishing reading, you can check out this site to have more vision of Halong Bay: www.world-heritage-tour.org/asia/vn/halongBay/island.html

And let's vote for Halong Bay to become one of the 7 new wonders at this site: www.new7wonders.com

And one more time: WELCOME TO MY DEAR COUNTRY - VIET NAM.

A group of professional people posed this question to a group of 4 to 8 year olds.  What does love mean?  The answers they got were broader and deeper than anyone could have imagined.

1.  When my grandma got arthritis, she couldn't bend over and paint her toenails anymore.  So my grandpa does it for her now all the time, even when his hands got arthritis too.  That's love.
Rebecca- age 8

2.  When someone loves you, the way they say your name is different.  You just know that your name is safe in their mouths.
Billy- age 4 (I love it! - how old is this kid?)

3.  Love is when a girl puts on perfume and a boy puts on shaving Cologne and they go out and smell each other.
Kari- age 5

4.  Love is when you go out to eat and give somebody most of
your French fries without making them give you any of theirs.
Chrissy- age 6

5.  Love is what makes you smile when you're tired.
Terri- age 4

6.  Love is when my mommy makes coffee for my daddy and she takes a sip before giving it to him, to make sure the taste is OK.
Danny- age 7

7.  Love is when you kiss all the time.  Then when you get tired of kissing, you still want to be together and you talk more.  My mommy and my daddy are like that.  They look gross when they kiss.
Emily- age 8

8.      Love is what's in the room with you at Christmas if you stop opening presents and listen.
Bobby- age 7 (WOW - get the Kleenex - he'll go places in this ole world.)

9.  If you want to learn to love better, you should start with a friend who you hate.
Nikka- age 6

10.  Love is when you tell a guy you like his shirt, then he wears it everyday.
Noelle- age 7

11.  Love is like a little old woman and a little old man who are still friends even after they know each other so well.
Tommy- age 6

12  During my piano recital, I was on stage and I was scared.  I looked at all the people watching me and saw my daddy waving and smiling.  He was the only one doing that.  I wasn't scared anymore.
Cindy- age 8

13. My mommy loves me more than anybody.  You don't see anyone else kissing me to sleep at night.
Clare- age 6 (gotta love her)

14.  Love is when mommy gives daddy the best piece of chicken.
Elaine-age 5

15.  Love is when mommy sees daddy smelly and sweaty and still says he is handsomer than Robert Redford.
Chris- age 7

16.  Love is when your puppy licks your face even after you left him alone all day.
Mary Ann- age 4

17. When you love somebody, your eyelashes go up and down and little stars come out of you.
Karen- age 7 (what generation is this kid?)

18  Love is when mommy sees daddy on the toilet and doesn't think it's gross.
Mark- age 6

19.  You really shouldn't say I LOVE YOU unless you mean it.  But if you mean it, you should say it a lot.  People forget.
Jessica- age 8 (priceless)

And the winner was a 4 year old child whose next door neighbor was an elderly man who had just lost his wife.  When the child saw the man cry, the little boy went over into the man's yard and climbed on top of the man's lap and just sat there.  When the boy's mother asked him what he'd said to the neighbor, the little boy said, "Nothing, I just helped him cry."

10. God worried that Adam would be lost in the Garden of Eden because he wouldn't ask for the directions.

9.God knew that someday Adam would need someone to hand him the TV remote. (Parenthetically, it has been noted that men don't want to see what's ON television, they want to see WHAT ELSE is on)

8. God knew that Adam would never make a doctor's appointment.

7.God knew that when Adam's fig leaf wore out, he would never buy a new one for himself.

6. God knew that Adam would not remember to take out the garbarge.

5. God wanted man to be fruitful and multiply, but he knew Adam would never be able to handle labor pains and childbirth.

4. As "keeper of the garden", Adam would need help in finding his tools.

3. Adam needed someone to blame for the Apple incident, and for anything else that was really his fault.

2. As the Bible sayd: "It is not good for man to be alone". And the Number One of all....

1. God stepped back, looked at Adam, and declared: "I can do better than that!!".

God said that: "Man represents my image, woman - my emotions. Together, you represent the totally of God. So man, treat woman well. Love her, respect her, for she is fragile. In hurting her, you hurt me. What you do to her, you do to me. In crushing her, you only damage your own heart, the heart of you Father. Woman, support man. In humility, show him the power of emotion I have given you. In gentle quietness show your strength. In love, show him that you are the rib that protects his inner self"
