"It is unconscionable to think that people are dropping like flies on Syrian streets, the injured are hiding in private homes to avoid capture or cold-blooded murder, the funeral processions are being shot at with many killed at a time they bereave the dead, the detained are tortured and many die and are buried in mass graves, yet the international community seems only willing to extend words of comfort.

Where is your conscience people? It’s Easter Sunday for heaven’s sake. Then comes Erdogan who thinks Gaza is tragic with its people under siege and tyranny while Syrians, under his buddy Assad, enjoy comfort and freedom. Where is your humanitarian flotilla to Syria Erdogan?  Our injured, attacked by the snipers of your dear friend Assad, cannot go to hospitals for fear of being either killed on the spot or arrested to die under torture. Or does that not fit with your understanding of what a human tragedy is? Are Gazans better people than Syrians? Is Assad too dear a friend for you to bother?

And where are the Hamas Palestinians who seem to forget everyone else’s tragedy except their own? Where are their voices? Never expect Syrians to come to your aid again. When elections come, we will make the MB in Syria pay for your silence. And where is King Abdullah of Saudi Arabia? What kind of leader is governing over Makah and Medina who is afraid of his own shadow?

Where are the young tiger Princes of al-Saud to overthrow everyone over 80 who clings to power like a sick patient clings to oxygen? Have you become too comfortable for your own good? Wake-up Bandar bin Sultan. This is your time. Where are all the Arab leaders and the Arab League? The cowards hosting dinners to celebrate their fat bank accounts while our people die in front of their eyes?"

This Revolution is for all ages and against any Arab and non-Arab oppressor in the region. This Revolution is against Assad, the Mullahs of Iran, and the hapless King of Saudi Arabia.

This Revolution is against the bigotry of Hizbullah giving aid to kill Syrians and the barbaric IRGC training Assad on how to maximize death.”

A video blogger reedited segments from a CNN interview Syria's First Lady Asma Assad gave in 2009 during Israel's Operation Cast Lead in Gaza to make it seem as if she is in fact referring to the current violent crackdown in her own country

Assad is seen declaring that "the barbaric assault on innocent civilians has been horrific,” and, “this is the 21st century, where in the world could this happen?" as images of the massacres in the city of Homs are displayed.

The top general for the Syria Free Army accused Iran and Hizbullah of activly aiding Damascus in quelling dissent in the country.

"Iranian armored divisions are fighting alongside the forces of Assad, and Hizbullah  is also supporting the regime," SFA Gen. Hussam Awac, a former sension general with said.

Awac, a former senior officer in Syria's Air Force Intelligence, said the Iranian forces were being hosted in Syria by the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine.

An "Iranian armored brigade is stationed Ahmed Jibril's camps near the Syrian border with Lebanon," Awac said.

The PFLP, run by Jibril, has been accused by senior security officials in Beirut of aiding Syrian intelligence in the kidnapping of Syrian dissidents in Lebanon.

Awac added that rebel fighters in Homs had captured several members of the Iranian Revolutionary Guards, and "regional experts" working with the military.

Hizbullah "units 101, 102 and 103 are operating in Syria," Awac said, adding that Unit 101 "specializes in carrying out assassinations and explosions."

"These units are targeting our fighters in the street fighting," he explained.

The Syrian army  on Thursday continued its ground offensive in the Baba Amr neighborhood of Homs, after four weeks of continuous shelling that killed hundreds.

Dear Oscar... I'm not quite sure counter-balancing us hegemony through what you describe as axis-of-evil would be bad at all.

I feel more like turkey, the us and israel are on the same side on this geopolitical chessboard called syria. And I'm not sure erdogan and assad are close friends as you picture it. Turkey just pretended for a while to be a friendly country for neighboring syria. Turkish FM admitted during an interview in turkey that they were paving the way for a social uprising through noncoercive means over the past couple of years. You should keep in mind ruling elite of turkey belongs to sonna sect whereas syrian leadership belongs to alawite sect of islam. History of islam has been marked by a neverending clash between shiite islam (officially represented by iran) and sonna islam. I think that explains to a degree the hypocritical stance of turkey over syria while condoning to violence in bahrain.

As for turkish policy on gaza strip, following the introduction, now it's timely to remind that palestinians are sonna muslims. Plus, bashing israel pays off in domestic politics. And there is more than that. We should be very skeptical about the seemingly clashing turkey-israel relationship. Turkey seems to be granted the role of islamic leadership in the region by the united states. Turkish pm sometimes improvises without consent of his masters, but in the bigger picture, he is at disposal. Otherwise deploying nato radar system in turkey (against iran) wouldn't make any sense.

There are also much to talk about the increasing economic expansion of turkey in the region, which adds to the need of anti-israel/islamic rhetoric. I suggest you to have a closer look on turkish politics to get a better understanding of turkey-syria relations
