A Chat With Hope.

BOY: Gloom overrides my day

Flood it with clouds, thick and grey

And stole my hope away

My life is on a sway 

My day is dark as night

No hope or rays of light

Can sun ever shine bright?

Or will it forever be out of sight?

 I cried and cried but all in vain

Tears roll down my checks like rain

My heart bleeds, only me feels the pain

My joy has gone down the drain

 I shouted for help, till my voice grew dull

Yet no one heard my call

I’m so worthless and small

Thus, nobody minds at all

 Kill me; do me a favor this once

Send me where my ancestor lies

Away from all human eyes

Because I’m foolish, this life is but for the wise 

Caused is the day of my birth

Why didn’t you swallow me oh earth?

Deep in your belly, numb with no wrath

I could surely be better off down beneath

 HOPE:Say no more, little lad

To your grief do not add

Long ago your cries were heard

Stop hurting; this is your season to be glad

BOY:Impossible! Then why am I still in this world?

A place cooked with evil untold

Were love has died of cold

Impossible! What you say I cannot hold

 By the way, who are you?

Is this really true

Or have you come to add to my blue

Just the way the others do

 HOPE:No, I am He who died to set you free

Your sins, your pains and shame I took on me

Just to make you who you ought to be

Look at the nail marks in my hands, can’t you see

 BOY:If you are real and if you can

Help me, help Ann, Help Dan

And all our likes in every clan

Then I’ll believe you are a superman

 HOPE:For you all I came in Heavens glory

To relief you of your misery

And change the ending of your story

My plan is for you to be merry

 BOY:Are you sure of the course you pledge?

I am from black heritage

To make worse, am poor and of young age

Your promise I can’t afford, go save the rich 

HOPE:Now listen closely to what I say adhere

Through all your downs I was there

All your pains I also bear

And yet, I showered you with care 

When I came from above

I brought joy, hope, life, love

All for you to have

If you can only believe 

Jesus!  I believe

Reed me of all my sins, shame and grief

Be the Lord of my life

And keep me safe

 HOPE:It is done

Your sins are gone

You are now my son

And I love you less than none

 With a loud noise

Let Heaven rejoice

Over the souls of girls and boys

Who have finally made this choice.
