Overall, the Cathedral of Lima has several architectural styles. For the date of the start of construction, architectural style is Renaissance. However, it should be noted its main front, Plateresque style. The temple has a floor of a rectangular room, emulating the cathedral of Seville. The roof is supported by Gothic vaults of crucería currently simulate the starry sky, which are made of wood and stucco to alleviate the burden on the walls and prevent its collapse in the event of earthquake. Originally their altars were baroque, some of them being substituted by neoclassical altars. The choir stalls has a provision differs from the one proposed by any architectural style. The Cathedral itself is a synthesis of various architectural styles for which crossed to the city of Lima since its inception until today.
