HERE ARE SOME SUGGESTIONS FOR INTERNATIONAL INTERNS;
- before you leave, do your homework. learn about the country you're heading for, including their culture, customs and taboos.
- if learning the language is the main reason of your internship , make sure your boss knows this .
- your employer may view you as a regular employee,or may not know what to do with you. Either way, take the first weed to get acclimated and learn the ropes.
- try to set up a work plan with your supervisor. arrange to work in departments or areas that interest you, and agree to meet flexilbe but realistic deadines for completing projects.
- Be active, don't be shy when you talk with your foreign colleagues. Join in their out-of-office activities to discover even more about their lives.
- Give a copy of your passport and travel itinerary with your supervisor for safe keeping.
