What interested me in this article was not whether LINUX would play a competitive role in the selling market of OS , but the title of it-The next leap for LINUX. I believed that there is going to be a real challenge in the field of OS software industry. Maybe someone could write about that in an article using the title of The next leap for OS, I guessed.

Have you ever thought about this question? How much of our computer-time was spent on the web, using our emails, using applications that required an internet connection, and using IM? More and more with each passing day, when we thought of enjoying our computers, we thought of the amazing things we could do in surfing the web.

What is more. We also needed to think about why we had to update our operating system again and again, which filled up our computers with Million bytes of applications we rarely used and every single code cost our money. AS the internet is becoming more and more stronger to fit our need, I thought we should prepare for the day when the OS is degenerated into a simply dumb terminal for a series of web services. Word processor? Gone. Mail App ? of course Gone. Need to rotate an image? Do it in Flickr not iPhoto. Need to manage a photo collection and share it with others? Flickr again.

In summary ,I am privately convinced that Operating System is dieing, for the aggressive development of internet had brought us many incredible abilities to complish our works and do entertainments on the internet.we’ll be looking into the next leap for os in the few years, no matter what it is , dead or new born?
