‘Domradio’ says that on the Philippines there are recruitment companies that lure Filipinos to foreign countries by making false promises concerning well-paid work they’d find there. The truth is that some of these men then end up with companies that exploit them, pay them little to nothing and treat them very bad (for example by not giving them any breaks or by making them work when they’re sick). Thus as off December there is going to be a new supervisory authority making sure supervising all recruitment companies in the country.

‘Domradio’ says that according to the latest estimates done by the UNHCR about 40 million people all around the world still are victims of human trafficking, working for example as sex-slaves or in case of children working on plantations after being kidnapped and sold to the plantation owners.

“Domradio” says that in Bukarest the capital of Romania there is a sisterhood named Solwodi and one of the sisters/ nuns named Sister Adina Balan tries to warn people in Bukarest about human-trafficking and fake promises/ lies human-traffickers use to lure especially girls and women to Germany so as to force them into prostitution or other forms of forced labor. The problem is that most Romanians don’t listen to her as they find it inappropriate to talk about prostitution.

“Domradio” says that 95% of all prostitutes in Germany are non-Germans who in most cases got forced into this. Even underage victims as young as 15 – of course with a fake identity card – have been found in German brothels. They too – like the adult victims – get mistreated there.
The thing is that once the police frees them they don’t know where to go. Many victims can’t return to their family as they come from a cultural background that expects parents to reject their own children if they lost their virginity before marriage – even if it was unvoluntarily like in this case.

The German consumer information show “Marktcheck” says that there is a difference between for example “France” and “Made In France”. “France” in this case means that the product may have been produced in let’s say Bangladesh (or any other country) and simply the enterprise that is going to sell this product is located to France. “Made in France” however means that not just the design was made in France, but the entire product.
With clothes however it’s different. They are an exception: Here “Made in France” could simply mean that the design or the print of the shirt was made in France, while the rest may have been made in Bangladesh, Uganda, Guinea-Bissau etc.
