The news-show ‘Heute’ from Germany says that the IMF gave Argentinia a 56 billion dollar credit to fight the exonomical crisis they go throgh at the moment. In exchange Argentinia has to prove they are capable of saving money. Alas this deal resulted in a lot of more or less violent protests in Argentinia this week as the government now tries to save money by giving less financial support to the educational sector.

‘Domradio’ says that the IMF guaranteed this week that Argentinia would get 50 billions of dollars against the inflation. In exchange the government of Argentinia now has to find a way to make the number of unemployed people decrease and to make the difference between Argentinia’s debts and its income decrease, too.
Never before in the past twelve years have so many people been unemployed in Argentinia. Those that do have work aren’t off any better. Their wages are very low due to an inflation.

Today there was an episode about the most dangerous plants published by the TV-show ‘Sonnenseite’. Did you know that in Argentinia, Brazil, Cambodia, Indonesia, Kenya, the Kyrgyz Republic, Lebanon, Mexico, Mozambique, Nicaragua, the Philippines, Tanzania, Uganda, Vietnam and Zambia they force little children as young as five years old to work on tobacco plantations? Usually these children – of course this goes for adult workers too – don’t even receive protective clothing. Being so close to these tobacco plants for hours six to seven days a week is like smoking 50 cigars. Often the workers on these plantations suffer from lung diseases.

The monthly German newspaper “GEOlino” now made a list of what they say are the most amazing rivers in the world:
>The three Niagara-Falls (Ontario/ New York) combined have the highest flow rate of any waterfall in North America.
>The Mekong river crosses 6 countries making it one of the most multi-national rivers in the world.
>The Swiss Chutes du Rhin is among the three biggest waterfalls in Europe. Plus on hot summer days a huge amount of foam is produced where the water descending the waterfall hits the ground. However this is due to water pollution.
>The Iguatzu-Waterfalls in Brazil and Argentinia are a combination of 50 huge and 225 rather small waterfalls.
>Garganta del Diablo is a set of waterfalls of 80 m in height that move towards a narrow gorge which concentrates the highest flow of the Iguazú waterfalls. These waterfalls have the most intense flow in the world. The Garganta del Diablo is located to the border of the province of Misiones, in the Iguazú National Park, Argentina and the Iguaçu National Park of the state of Paraná, Brazil. The Salto Union is the spring that gives rise to the Garganta del Diablo, it is on the line that divides Brazil from Argentina. When the water falls 80 meters deep at the actual waterfall, fumaroles are generated that can be seen more than 7 km away.
