we have been invited -is an action taken place in the past but has relation with present.

we are invited -is past action and noting to do with present doings.

we have been invited is passive present perfect and means action started in past but still take place (passive)

Fred:  Should we be here?

David: It's ok, we are invited?

Sue:  I have never been to this place.  Have you?

Mary: I have not, but I have been invited.  I didn't go though.

Richard: I have been invited too, and I did go!

Lisa: We are invited to go today!  We have been invited before, and today we are invited again.

I hope this helps :)
